Works well and looks good value
I've used Zamberlan's Hydrobloc on my boots for as long as I can remember and I've never been unhappy with it, but I thought I'd give Grangers Waterproofing Wax a try this time as it's cheaper and you also get slightly more. It's easy to believe something to be the best if you've never compared it with anything else.Grangers has a honey colour (Hydrobloc: translucent, like a silicone sealant). I used to apply the Hydrobloc using my finger but the Grangers is creamier so I used a bit of cloth. Because of its consistency I found the Grangers slightly easier to apply. The surface is darkened by the treatment and leaves the surface feeling slightly tacky which eventually dries off after many days, but no different from Hydrobloc.Overall the result was little or no different from what I'd experienced previously with Hydrobloc. The acid test is how waterproof the result is and I've no way of determining this, but then no reason to think is will be much or any different. I'm happy with the Grangers and will continue to use it.

works a treat for walking boots
bought this for my leather goretex walking boots. Works a treat. I rub in using my fingers to help melt the wax and leave to be absorbed. Leaves a waxy coating (dependant on how much you apply) which you can buff off or polish over. When you walk in the boots you can sometimes get a white waxy line where be boot folds as you walk, but this quickly disappears. The product leaves your boot leather in good condition and very waterproof. I have applied to my dress work shoes for waterproofing also.

Good wax for walking boots
Does what it says on the tin.Keeps water at bay for a time on treated leather.Quite a sticky finish once applied and let's dust easily stick to it. Water resistances are good but lacks much oil to condition the leather, so a possibility of the leather cracking after time.

Waterproofing my boots
Used to waterproof my walking boots before leaving on a walking holiday in the summer. Seems to have worked effectively, no problem with wet feet in aging boots! Happy with the product and price cheaper than my local shops which is a plus. Would have liked to have a cloth, or brush, to aid application but not really an issue as i have plenty!

EASY TO APPLY!!!!
This Dickies Cleveland is already a waterproof shoes as it says in the shoes specifications, but it’s raining every day, every hour, every time now (26 October 2020) for the past couple of weeks here in south west England, so I need to be sure to waterproof a nubuck Dickies. I love the results, the one with the Grangers is the one that I already done waterproofing, I love the darker colour compared to original “honey” colour. My doc Martens looks amazing.Definitely will buy another one when I run out of this Grangers Wax.

Great, simple product
Waterproofing and protecting your boots couldn't be easier. This pair is ten years old and although worn only probably for 100-200 days in that period, they haven't been well-maintained.After two minutes if applying the wax with a lint-free cloth, you can see the result. The surface is now totally water repellent.Great, simple product.Just one thing: it doesn't go very far. One tub will comfortably treat just two pairs of boots if, like me, you don't do this often.

Good but with some faults
We all know that this wax is supposed to be one of the best on the market. However my experience did not live up to this. The wax is easy to apply to clean boots, I use a soft cloth to do so. Once I have a generous amount on the boots I warm with a hairdryer and let the wax run into all the seams.I then apply another coating for good measure.Although the wax gives a very good waterproof coating, when you actually walk in the boots you can see white bands of wax appear at the crease marks. This wax can become excessive and spoil the bottom of your waterproof pants.Since using this I have now tried one of the other brands Scarpa creams which seem to do a better job but at 3 X the price.Overall you get what you pay for, but I would spend the extra for a better product.

This really works!
Brilliant for my Teva leather boots that I wear every day for walking the dogs. We do plod through some boggy, muddy grassland and my feet are always dry when we get back. I wipe and wash the dirt off my boots and dry them on the radiator. Then I religiously wax them again. The wax goes on best when warmed and I make sure I get some right down to the sole edge. I couldn't be without this wax paste and happily cross shallow streams knowing that my boots are COMPLETELY WATERPROOF! Brilliant stuff for me as I'm not all that comfortable in wellingtons.
