Exactly what I needed for my daughter's lion costume@
My daughter decided she had to be a white lion for Halloween. I looked for a costume, no dice in white so I had to come up with something on my own. This pattern was perfect. I made my own paws and mask, but it was easy to add that. I will say that I measured her and still seemed a bit big after sewing it all together, so I had to bring it in some, but no big deal when you have to make it anyway.

It's not for beginners!
Lordt help you if you make this pattern. I did pattern "A". My son a huge Donkey Kong fan wanted a costume for Halloween and he's in that awkward sizing stage where a child large costume (store bought) is too small, teen sizes are harder to find than a four leaf clover, and an adult xs swallow him whole. So I thought "I'll get out my machine and momma make my boy a donkey kong. Buckle up buttercup! This is going to be awesome!"Fast forward 2 weeks later into it. I work a full time job, I have 3 kids and family/social obligations. This pattern is crazier than a box of frogs to follow. It was designed for faux fur. He wanted fleece instead. The inch and a half seam allowances is so wasteful of material. Maybe you do need that much for faux fur, but fleece definitely not. I've been trimming away bulky seam lines which breaks my heart to waste fabric. Fleece and faux fur aren't exactly cheap materials unless you happen to have a good coupon (I did!). I guess the pattern designer thought we all have faux fur trees in our backyard or in my case a fleece tree. What this pattern doesn't tell you up front is you'll need tailors chalk, or a really good fabric pen, a mallet if your doing faux fur to beat down seams (no joke), a billion pins or hem clips, at least 2 full bobbins of thread, and the patiences of Saint for the belly portion of the pattern.I sew occasionally. Maybe every few months. Pj's, pillows, curtains, baby items, zipper pouches, clothes, walker caddies, I even sew crochet to fabric, I once even made a coat! So I've got some sewing chops. This pattern is written confusing AF. The belly. I redid the belly 4 times before I decided to do it my way instead of theirs. This is how I did it.You need to basically make a butterfly out of the pattern. I made me a pattern for this out of tissue pepper by tracing it on the fold. Then I cut 2 of those out of my fabric. Then I put my batting in the middle like a pita pocket. Then pinned it and stiched it. But let it be known everywhere else in the pattern you have the massive seam allowance, not on the belly. You get 5/8" and 3/8" on the curves. That makes folding and ironing hems crazy hard with the batting and thick material. If you attempt this pattern, start way in advance and step #13 is a big one. It's basically 8 things in one step. Read it. Then again 5 more times. Drag out your highlighter and pretend your in English class again. If you do this pattern buy extra materials. You'll need them. And booze. Maybe extra booze to get you through it. Good luck!

No outer envelope
This arrived with no outer envelope, so I needed to rely on the information online for fabric and notions. I feel that I received a used pattern.

Bought this pattern as a newbie, to make a cheetah costume for a 4 year old. Took me a little while [no fault in the directions] but I did it! Years later, son still rocking it.
