Zojirushi Ms.Bento Stainless Lunch Jar, Aqua Blue

I ran out of lunch ideas long time ago, and I feel bad giving my 7 year old cold sandwiches everyday during the cold winter months. My boy doesn't eat salad, so he hardly had any veggies at lunch. Everything has changed since I purchased the Ms Bento. Now he gets a warm entree as a main course and a healthy serving of veggie as a side.The bottom bowl keeps food very warm even after 5 hours if you follow the instructions (preheat the container with hot water prior to putting bowls in). The top bowl keeps food room temperature at serving time which is perfect for the veggies so they won't loose too much nutrients due to the heat. Ms Bento is the perfect size for my son, and this two bowl model is easy enough for him to handle.Three things to keep in mind:- Preheat the container with hot water prior to use.- Only the bottom bowl retains the heat.- Bowls are not leakproof, so cannot use with soup. If you really like to bring soup, go for the other stainless steel version of Ms Bento.

Dont buy this! Its cute but the food doesnt stay warm... Maybe it stays hot for about one hour or less.Its better to look for some other brand. I felt like i wasted my money on this :-(

It is one of very best brand thermo bento box in Japan.Zojirushi were well known thermo and rice cooker since .Their products line are very durable and good reputation in Japan.Zojirushi is well known brands in entire Asia !!!Zojirushi thermo lines produced since I was small…more than twenty years ago.A lots of company follows Zojirushi brands and we can find variety of brads after all.This theromo, it impossible to keep hot !!! …this is common sense to me but keep warm is great already.It keep reasonable temperature for 4 hours from morning… it is great… usually we will have lunch about noon.I suggest that put it into micro wave and heated before cover the lid…keep warm longer hour and warmer than expected .This bento box size is just good enough for children portion.I make a bento box every single day, My children loves keep warm and just happy.I am very happy with this brand because best brand so far !

leaks when soup is put in larger container. Keeps food hot well, just ok though

I got this for my daughter's lunch. I do like it because now she can take warm meals to school, but it doesn't keep the food hot for too long. I also did what many suggested about putting hot water for a few minutes to preheat the thermos. I do that and I make sure the food is really hot so it can last long. I usually just put some noddle soup or some pasta or chicken and by lunch time she says her food isn't really that warm anymore. She still eats it so it's been useful, but like I said it doesn't keep it hot for too long.

I used as directed (heated food in the morning, outer container filled with boiling water for several minutes) and the lower container was quite hot at lunchtime about 6 hours later. The upper container, containing items that had been refrigerated overnight and packed in the morning, was room temperature.I've carried a thick soup a few times and had no trouble with leakage. The bottom container is not watertight, so don't invert the container or overfill. Broth soups probably wouldn't work well unless you underfill slightly and are sure to keep the container stable.The bag is quite roomy, with enough space to fit a canned drink or other items.The portion sizes are quite reasonable for an adult woman of average size and appetite, assuming you are packing reasonably calorie-dense foods. This wouldn't be a good size for a salad or sandwich, for example. There is enough space to pack such items on the side.

The Zojirushi Ms. Bento Stainless Lunch Jar is everything I hoped it would be. I send it to school with a 7 year old girl and she is thrilled to have hot lunches. Although the instructions included with it are not in English, it's pretty self-explanatory. Before I put any food in it, I pour a cup of hot water in the Lunch Jar (with all the containers in it), and let it sit closed for a few minutes, before putting her food in it. (Obviously, dumping the water out first).ALthough other reviewers have said that the top container goes down to room temperature, we have had it stay nice and warm--the perfect eating temperature. The bottom container does stay hot at least for 5 hours (haven't tested it further).Even though the price may seem high, believe me, it was definitely worth it to us, especially with a somewhat picky eater and a peanut allergy. Instead of scrambling around, scratching your head for something to send for lunch (that would be okay cold), being able to send a hot lunch is just terrific!We've had no leaking problems (and we don't even use the lunch bag it came with, as she has her Hello Kitty Lunch Bag) Just keep it upright, although, don't panic --we've had it on its side before and no leakage! :)TO me, this was the greatest thing I could've given myself, as again, it opened up so many more possibilities for school lunches. (And my little girl couldn't be happier!)
