- About this item Sow from early spring as soon as the soil can be worked in an open sunny site preferably on ground which has been manured for a previous crop. Sow in double rows 7cm (2in.) deep, 23cm (9in.) apart in the row. The double rows should be spaced 23cm (9in.) apart and a distance of 40-60cm (18-24in.) should be left before the next set of double rows. These will not require support and will attain a height of only 12-16 inches Harvest the beans when the pods are well fat and the seed still soft. Confused
Was really happy initially, as every bean germinated. However, although they have grown to 12” and are bushy with lots of flowers. I’ve had bees buzzing around the flowers pollinating then for weeks and there is not a bean in sight. Don’t understand why!!

Grew extremely well.
Have had a bumper crop and still have some spare seeds for next year. We love broad beans and on average 4 per pod has proved their worth over and above the cost of the packet of seed beans.

doubtful quality.
Came from abroad. Some seeds were poor quality and at the end only about 60% germinated.Will go elsewhere next time
