Simple and effective
Brilliant idea for chemical free slug elimination, and the gap between the cap and reservoir is small enough that frogs and toads shouldn't get caught in them. Testing so far indicates Stella seems to work best

Four Stars
Better that earlier products but don't understand the last instruction of putting together. Well packaged.

Good but the hinge to open the top is not good, I found that they break easily as they are just bent plastic

Good idea, design issues
These are a good idea in theory - they do not work in reality, I "installed" six of these a few days' ago. One of the lid hinges broke straight away. I went to empty them, absolutely revolting and thought I was going to vomit. Obviously it's extremely hot at the moment which has probably made things worse. The few slugs that had found the beer holders had decomposted to a white sludge. The tiny holes at the bottom of the inner sleeve were therefore blocked and the beer wouldn't drain in to the holders. What a mess to have to deal with. Another lid hinge has also broken. Need to find another solution to the zombie slug onslaught that happens in my garden on a nightly basis. I wouldn't waste your money on these.

Early days but they appear to be doing the job

Five Stars
Good for catching slugs and snails and are small enough to blend in with the other plants.

A good idea, but there are flaws that need addressing
The good thing about these is that the entrance to the Inn is level with the ground, so its easy for the guests to drop in for a beer and the depth of the holders keeps them in. The locking system on the lid is flimsy, 4 of the 6 I bought have already broken. The biggest flaw is with the inner sleeve. There is a drain hole in the bottom to allow for lifting the inner (which will be full of slugs & snails) and letting the remaining beer drain back through to the outer sleeve. However, once the inner is full of slugs you need to poke them about with a stick or similar to get them out of the way of the drain hole to allow beer to drain back into the outer sleeve - its a right faff! Also the tiny slugs get wedged in the hole. The drainage area needs to be a lot larger and have a sieve type bottom.I've overcome this by taking out the inner & chucking everything, including the beer. into the compost bin, but this does mean you can't use the beer again for the trap.
