Works well and well made
The switch is very easy to install works very well and is well made. The slide switch can be a little fiddly to operate but not a major issue. The only downside is if you want to use a led bulb you need to purchase and install the Zv900 automatic switch load controller or something similar.

Easy to install . Fiddly to access on / off / auto controls. May have been superceded
Positives :This was easy to install.Timeguard are a specialist UK based company so will be aware of UK lighting standards.Negatives:The On / Off / Auto and adjustment controls are behind a trapdoor which clips in too firmly to be easily opened with finger and thumb. I have to use a flat bladed screw driver to prise it open. This looks like it stresses the plastic, and I always worry too much force will break it.Some sites report that this product has been replaced by the ZV810N, which has the On / Off / Auto controls permanently available. But the zv810N does not seem to be widely available

Works perfectly to replace a normal light switch - simple 10 minute job - very clear instructions.
I bought this to replace a standard 1-way light switch in a closet where we keep our walking gear and dog paraphernalia. Inevitably when in this closet we have our hands full so an automated light seemed like A Good Idea. Before purchase I checked the existing switch and it had a red wire (live), a black wire (neutral) and an earth wire (green/yellow).It took about 5 minutes to replace the original switch with the Timeguard ZV810, just swapping the red and black wires on a like for like basis. (REMEMBER TO TURN OFF THE ELECTRICITY FIRST!!). The instruction manual is crystal clear and shows the procedure for a one-way switch like mine and also a 2-way with just one ZV810 and a 2-way using two ZV810 units. The ZV810 doesn't require much depth behind it (unlike some advertised here) and mine fitted into the existing 16mm back box perfectly. Also, and again unlike some advertised here) the switch is proper UK spec size so it fits perfectly - some of the others are too small and leave a gap all round once fitted.Once wired up all you have to do is set the switch to Auto, wait 3 minutes for the unit to stabilise and that's it. You can then adjust the three user parameters: distance over which the switch detects motion, time light is on before shutting off and the light level you want the switch to operate in. In my case, I left the distance at maximum to give the greatest sensitivity to motion and this works perfectly as the door activates the light as it swings open so the closet is lit before you even get in there. I set the 'time on' to the minimum 6 seconds - if you are in the closet for longer, so long as you are not standing perfectly still, the light stays on until you leave. I also set the light level to 'daylight' because I need this closet illuminated even in broad daylight. All in all the job took 10 minutes from start to finish and achieved exactly what I wanted, so I can highly recommend this switch. Please bear in mind that I only installed it today so can't comment on longevity or long-term reliability etc, but so far, so impressive.

Not worth the money
Not worth the money. It was ok to begin with, started playing up, stopped working so we turned it off but it managed to break even more by flickering when off. Bought one of the cheaper pie switches and it's much better.

Bought as a replacement for previous
Had one of these for a few years until it failed, essential for our downstairs toilet as we have 'children' who haven't mastered light switches yet, they are only in their twenties so perhaps we are asking too much.Switch arrived fairly quickly, only complaint is with the terminal screws on the new switch, seemed to be poorer quality than previous, would benefit from a design review of the terminals

Most reliable sensor switch I have ever bought
I bought this to replace our old one which lasted for 11 years. Just hope this is just as reliable as the last one.

Not for Commercial use.
There OK, a bit pricey. We used them at our cricket club but that got damaged quickly. People where thinking you had to push the PIR sensor to get them to go on, so got ruined after about 3 months.

Movement activated illumination of any chosen area to welcome you home or simply to provide a timed period of lighting.
Automatic switching on and off of your lights, activated by your movement in its wide coverage area, is not only a useful safety feature of this product, it provides a welcome illumination of the controlled area in which it is sited. The unit simply replaces a conventional light switch and actually looks just like a light switch to the casual observer, however its surprise is an immediate reaction to your presence whenever the PIR sensor reeacts to movement. The sensor can be adjusted using the drop down hinged panel to operate for a selected chosen time period, together with the illumination level required and is easy to set and forget.Additionally, and in my view of fundamental importance, the Technical support Team offer guidance and advice should you need to contact them, and the standard of electrical expertise is high. The product comes with a 2 year guarantee and once installed proves to be indispensable.
