I'm not a side sleeper so I can't comment on this pillow's intended use, but for sleeping on my back, I get such a sound sleep using this pillow. It greatly improved my quality of sleep. But, when I washed it the first time when I got noticed all this black stuff in the pillow so I washed it again and dried it. And didn't see any in the drier. I'm washing it for the third time after sleeping on it for a while and still this stuff. It is disturbing so I am tossing this pillow even though I like it so much. I will check with Amazon first to see if I can get a replacement though. Wondering if anyone else had this problem. Update: This pillow, though very comfortable was infested with some type of bug it appears. The stuff that was coming out in the wash was biological and appeared to be bug pieces. I think I must have killed them doing the initial wash but if they were bed bugs, I'm pretty sure the eggs would survive. I just ended up throwing the pillow away. I noticed something was off when I will feeling a little sick after sleeping on the pillow for a while. I should have not ignored that black stuff seaping out of the pillow after I washed it the first time, when it was delivered. Not sure if this was done by some hateful person or if it was unintentional, but it was disturbing all the same.

Just had extensive shoulder surgery and sleeping is near impossible. Love this pillow and concept, but it’s not a fluffy as the picture showed. Had it about a week and still flat in spots.

My neurosurgeon recommended this for my severe lumbar stenosis and it is really great. Give it a try. Very comfortable - put the bottom of the pillow between you legs to stack them properly. Best to use in fetal position to relieve back stress.

I bought this for my daughter, who lives across the country -- so far, from me. She has chronic back nerve pain. I wanted to do something to help, but living so far away, what can you do? Then I saw this pillow. After reading the reviews I was hesitant, but at least it was worth a shot, right? So I gave it the shot. It was definitely worth it! I held my breath for three days, then I finally asked. I thought maybe she'd had trouble adjusting, like some reviewers had mentioned, but no. She actually had had much better night's sleep from the first night. The only adjustment was when she turned over during the night and had to turn the pillow with her. I'm glad I gave it a try for my 'little' girl.

Great comfort and help for spine

I purchased this after spending 3 or 4 months waking up with an incredibly sore and stiff neck. I tried different pillows, etc. and even slept on several different beds during this time (hotels, etc). I figured this was an affordable enough college try before I started getting experts involved. I have been sleeping with it for a month now and here are my findings. For reference, I'm a 45 y/o, 6'1" male, weigh 225lbs, and sleep on my side. PROS: - The pain is gone. Immediately (morning 1). Every time I sleep with this, I wake up pain-free. Not exaggerating. - I sleep very, very deeply with this. Been tracking my sleep via an app on my Apple Watch for years, and my average sleep "score" went from 87 to 94. My partner confirms I do not move around practically at all while I sleep now. - It's very comfortable. Took a few days to figure out where/how to move the filling around to get what I wanted, but it's perfect now. I live in a hot & humid climate, and run hot to begin with, so cooling is important, and the cool model does indeed keep me cool. - It is easy to wash and take care of and seems well-constructed CONS: - Not exactly something you are going to travel with regularly - Not ideal for relaxing in bed. I removed my normal pillows (and you might have to as well) and this won't suffice for sitting up in bed comfortably - Still not sure what to do with it when I make the bed (I pull my old pillows out, and hide this in my closet.). I need a better solution. :) - Can be a little awkward to get repositioned or back into bed if you wake up in the middle of the night, especially if you are trying not to wake up someone next to you. You get better at it, but it's still a bit of "flopping" around. - I wish it was just a tad longer (I got the XL cool version). Even when I use the very end for my head, it doesn't quite reach my ankles (again, I'm 6'1"). Another foot of length would be ideal. So, on paper it would appear that there are a lot of "cons" but there is that one key "pro"... The pain is gone. How much inconvenience you are willing to put up with to help with that is going to be the question you have to ask before purchasing this. For me, the tradeoff isn't even a question, as I sleep so much better now (at least when I'm in my own bed).

This pillow is good if you can sleep in one position but if you change positions during the night it is very frustrating to adjust the position of the pillow.

The swan is a great way to drift off to sleep.

definitely not what I expected. It says in the instructions that in 24 to 48 hours the pillow will be completely decompressed from the wrapping it came in, but frankly I expected it to puff up more. I feel it very flat. upset
