Is this safe to use in pressure cooker?

Yes. I’ve used it to tie meat joints, also to tie a pudding basin cloth around the basin. No problems just don’t leave long ends from your knots. I’ve used it in my old stovetop pressure cooker and my current electric one.

Is this Chinese cotton or is it ethically sourced from non slave labour ?

Don't know the answer to your question but avoid it's rubbish just snaps when trying to tie slip knots
