Having nastily sprained my ankle six weeks before taking part in my first Tough Mudder I'd been afraid I either wouldn't be able to take part or would injure myself thanks to my weakened ankle and the rough terrain I knew the course would offer. Using the Aircast A60 to support my ankle through the worst of my recovery and then later only when training meant that I was able to protect my ankle and take part as planned. On the big day I decided I would go ahead and wear the A60 for the Tough Mudder itself. It did its job perfectly and did protect me when I felt myself slip on a couple of occasions. It has even been through the washing machine twice (to get rid of the Tough Mudder's tough mud) and come out perfectly unscathed. Unlike others who have posted I've not experienced any quality problems with my Aircast ankle brace. I would say that it is important you take time to adjust it carefully when you put it on each time. If you over-tighten it you will find it becomes uncomfortable and if you under-tighten it you will not get the support you need. Once you have worked out what is right for you though it is comfortable to wear even for extended periods and in tough conditions. I can honestly say that it is sufficiently comfortable I totally forgot I was wearing it for my Tough Mudder event. Do take the time to wear it in though, and wear longer socks than usual to stop it from rubbing on your leg.

I ordered this support as a replacement for a brace supplied through the NHS. I have long term ligament damage which has led to the onset of arthritis. I read the reviews and description and thought this would be a good replacement offering the same support but easier to fit and more comfortable than the NHS support. Having received the brace I tried wearing it having read the instructions and even watched a few videos. No matter how I fitted it there was very minimal support, my ankle was still able to rock side to side and didn’t offer the required support. It may offer some support to prevent injury during sport to stop the ankle turning right over.

I fractured my ankle and tore several ligaments and split my tendon on a morning run because of a fall and had to have surgery. To restart running again my surgeon and my podiatrist both recommended I wear this ankle support they suggested this one, it’s very comfortable to wear even with carbon plated trainers. I went with large as it runs small you can wear it over socks and it’s very comfortable to wear doesn’t shear your skin like previous models I have used or overheat your ankle it really stabilises my ankle while it’s recovering I feel confident with it, if it’s good enough for Andy Murray to wear and two skilled professionals it’s good enough for me I would totally recommend if you’ve had a full ankle reconstruction

I have bad damage to both my ankles from playing football. Normally i struggle to walk after playing due to the pain and i hobble about for a couple of days. i have worn these twice now and have had no more pain than i normally do when not playing which is great. however the fabric on the brace has already started to tear

It’s the best support I’ve had I bought several others and was disappointed with them. This has made a big difference to how I get around.

The second one I have purchased. Transformational for my severely arthritic ankle. Enables me to lead a more or less normal life.

I have multiple torn tendons in my right foot and ankle. Also broke two bones in the same foot so wearing this brace really helps to reduce the pain while walking.

This feels good when wearing a sock under it. I should have waited longer for my fractured 5th metatarsal to heal and my ankle’s swelling to go down before trying it on. Now that I am healing and walking better after only 2weeks, I am truly benefiting from the brace’s support. It does go on and off well, quick to put on and secure the support strap. The plastic braces in the sides fit around my ankle. These also wrap around under the foot. It’s only slightly uncomfortable the first wear, but I became less sensitive to it with each use. The brace is a little more bulky than I expected, though I still have some swelling in my ankle and foot, but it still works with my five ten MTB shoes and hiking boots. I’m still curious how this brace compares to other lace-up designs. I just wanted something to help get me confidently back in action. I wish the “black” option was completely black, but that’s just a cosmetic issue.

I have been using this for several months now and am well pleased. It is quick and easy to use. If you are wearing high top shoes, the support is very strong. This particular brace needs the stability of the high topped (or at least mid rise) shoe to provide its best support. I feel very secure when I wear it to play basketball and I'm not bothered by it at all when I play for 2 hours straight.
