Based on an original idea from comic book legend Stan Lee, "Lucky Man" tells the story of Harry Clayton (James Nesbitt), a cop from Central London's notorious Murder Squad. Harry is down on his luck; his wife (Eve Best) and child have left him due to his gambling habit, his boss thinks he's in league with the devil, and he has a huge debt to an infamous underworld crime boss who is threatening his life. A chance meeting with a mysterious woman who gives him an ancient bracelet changes everything. It appears to give Harry control over luck itself, but at what cost? What is luck anyway, and is one man's luck always another's misfortune? Harry Clayton is about to find out.

Good series
Good series, really enjoyed it, only problem is that I cant get season two without spending a ridiculously high price, sort of wish I'd checked I could get seasons 2 and 3 before getting this.

Flawed detective gets lucky - super lucky!
A bracelet somehow placed on the wrist of a London detective gives him luck, although he finds out that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. See James Nesbitt run across a busy 6 lane motorway and not get a scratch! (How did they do that?)Good story line, excellent idea from Stan Lee (can you spot him early on?), Luck as a super power.

Unique and enjoyable
Definitely something different ...and enjoyable! I do love good cop shows and this one is excellent. Gritty realistic characters and great cast of Brit stalwarts. The surreal element of the bracelet works well and adds something unique to an otherwise good but routine police procedure drama. Well done to the ever awesome Stan Lee, loved his cameo... And my home city has never looked so good!

Great entertainment with a certain gritty edginess
A clever idea for a plot -has an overarching arc over the series, and unusually for a series tat has a Marvel link (Stan Lee), it is set in London with English actors (a very good cast too!)Stan Lee has his usual bit part in the first episode.Good entertainment but with an edginess tat sets it apart. Feels a bit like Life on Mars
