Simple and solid
It's a very simple and solid pedal. It has short travel and it works well.

Good quality foot switch, well made.
Excellent , just what I needed for my electric spinning wheel. Just s light tap is all that is needed for start / stop action. Even had the correct jack plug. Well pleased with this well made solid device, its steel construction is ideal for a foot switch- nice and heavy so it keeps still on the floor, unlike light plastic type which skid away at the slightest tap. I recommend this device 100%.

Does exactly what's needed, and built perfectly well
The Nektar NP-1 is definitely well built - with a rubber grip on the top edge (where you press down on the pedal) and the same rubber on the bottom it grips the floor and you don't slip on it from use. I use this barefoot as well while I'm at home and it feels fine to use, with a very good travel for the cost and size. It's the same size physically as either a larger wallet or a medium sized smartphone, so it's easy to take with your MIDI controller or keyboard as needed. It uses a 6.35mm jack that fits in my controller fine (I use an AKAI MPK Mini Play, so it should work in those) so I can use this as a sustain pedal. It has a switch for polarity (as mentioned in the description) and that's the only thing on this that isn't made of metal, but realistically it's still as tough as it needs to be. The only negative using it as a sustain pedal is that, unlike other pedals, it can only work either fully on or fully off, as opposed to a more variable sustain pedal. It makes it good as a simpler pedal or something a bit more portable, but if you were permanently at home then you might be able to find something better. At the price I got it, definitely a good partner to any MIDI controller

Not a 'latching' switch - if you're using it for a subwoofer
It's a really nice foot switch, however, it does not 'latch', meaning that if you want it to turn on/off a subwoofer, you'd have to hold the pedal down to keep the sub on (or off, if polarity reversed). My fault for purchasing without knowing what I needed. Just in case this helps anyone else.

Works very well.
My daughter has been using it almost every day with her Yamaha electric piano for more than a year and the pedal has been working flawlessly all this time. And it probably will continue working well for many years to come.

Medium Grade unit with some issues... spend a bit more for a lot better.
Over the last year I’ve owned and used 3 of these. Two in my home setup and one for church. They work great out of the box and have the necessary switch as expected. They are made out of good grade external materials and are better than the M-Audio offering. The Roland DP-10 is distinctly superior. Two fault have occurred on all three Nectar NP-2 units. Fortunately they are relatively easy to fix. However that they occur (especially in a live setting) and need the consumer to resolve is. That these faults occurred on three units and three different users within 6 months of purchase. Return was not necessary. Self repair may void your warranty. 1. The internal HINGE SCREW on the pedal comes loose. This allows the spring to slip out of position rendering the pedal defunct. You can repair this by removing the back plate using a screwdriver and minding not to damage soldered wiring. Two screwdrivers to tighten or re-hinge the pedal (if the pivot screw has not been lost!) and then reposition the spring and close up the unit. This is a recurring condition and I have sadly had to make it part of my rig check. 2. On two of the units, the RUBBER SOLE on the underside has wholly come away. This happens on hard stage flooring or carpet. Repair is straightforward (by removing the base and pulling the nubs back through - I also used contact adhesive instead of the poor double sided tape applied in manufacture.) So, in conclusion, this is a medium quality sustain pedal with what I believe to be some manufacturing improvements to be made. Initially I was impressed, leading me to buy 2 additional units, however had the issues arrived sooner, I would’ve put my money in a higher quality unit first time.

Versatile Portable sustain pedal
Can be Used for drum machine loop pedal to trigger drum fills and intro’s. Equally good for portable piano / synth.

Good Quality Materials
Good quality metal, although the rubber pads ‘pop’ out of their holes and I’d suggest glueing them on instead of the ‘push-pop’ design currently used, especially where a heavy boot may be placed on it at regular intervals!
