Yes, parrafin wax is made from hydrocarbons.

Q: "Inspired on the California Coast", so why make them in Vietnam?

I assume that they are poured in Vietnam because they contracted with them to keep the price down.

I don't know about this specific one, but all of the sand and fog candles I have ordered were round.
