This is an excellent heating pad it actually gets very warm and the safety feature is perfect. What's great is while you are using the pad in the on position and if you fall asleep of course your hand will relax and the pad will turn off. ( because you hold the on switch in your hand and if you release it it shuts off).

I wasn’t sure what “medical grade” means.. Well, now I know, it means that all the heating pads that wouldn’t stay hot that I was buying at drugstores are pure junk. Right out of the box I could tell this was a completely different product in terms of quality. I was still a bit skeptical as to how it would heat, but this pad gets hot and stays hot ‘til you let off of the control lever. Holding the lever down evidently bothers some people but I don’t find it to be bothersome. This pad works, period!!

The best infrared heat for lower lumbar back pain. The 2 lowest heat settings are the best, can’t imagine ever using the 3 & 4. Has 4 timer settings 15, 30,45 & 60 minutes, beeps just before it automatically shuts off. If you have serious back pain this is what you want.

This was my 3rd one. Nothing wrong with previous ones, except the last narrow version (just rite size for my neck, elbow, knee, etc) stopped working -- after 10yrs. So, nothing to complain about here. I continue to purchase this brand. Definately recommend. 👍
