I love it. My cats love it. Solved all our problems. Probably the best cat door in existence.
The media could not be loaded. We wanted a classy option to allow our cats in & our of our bedroom where there food is kept. Most of the options we saw were cheesy or tackey. Until I found this!Passage: Both of my cats fit easily through the passageway. One of them is a little on the heavy side, but he has no problems. Plus, I didn't have to teach them to push a flap with their noses. Very large cats might squeeze through just a little. However, that could be easily solved by adjusting where the original cut is made. The open flap is supported by velcro (provided) & although I'm not a fan, it works well. Cutting a larger portion of the door shouldn't have an effect on the hinge, but you might need to fasten the open flap with more than 1 square of velcro.Sound: My mother in law lives with us & enjoys watching TV late at night, very loudly, in the living room next to our bedroom. When closed, this keeps the sound barrier as if there's no cat door at all. Plus I don't have to hear a plastic flap swinging everytime they come & go.Installation: Easy project for someone with minimal skills. Getting the screws perfectly flush with the hinge is hugely important for functionality. I was very nervous (mainly because I cut the top of my first door by mistake & had to buy another door) but the YouTube video & written instructions were enough to successfully guide me. Also, the hinge has multiple screw holes to chose from, so you don't have to worry about what the internal configuration of your door looks like. One of the combinations of options is bound to work for you. The seam is visible while the flap is closed on the outside, but I suspect a bit of white paint will make it almost invisible.Sturdiness: Considering I have the hinge supported by only 4 screws (they provided 6 & I could have chose to use all of them) I'm very happy with it. We don't have kids that will be pulling on it or slamming the door. There's no reason it won't last for years.IMPORTANT: I have a solid-core door. I don't know if this will work with a hollow door. Also, when installing the flap portion of the door you must alight the top/edge cuts. Do not center the flap to the raw edge of the door. Upper edge of the door should align with the upper edge of the flapDon't forget to use a spacer while marking holes for the flap. You have to account for the hinge itself & you can't mark your holes while the flap is sitting flat on the door. All of that was shown in the video, but not stated out loud.Overall, I could not have made a very choice. I'm thrilled.

Purr-fect Privacy Without the Drama!
The media could not be loaded. This kitty corner has completely changed our bedtime routine — for the better! Installation was a breeze (took maybe an hour), and it looks sleek and clean against our door. I used to have to leave the bedroom door cracked at night so our cat Oscar wouldn’t pitch a fit — he’s mastered the art of opening doors and screams if shut out. But leaving it open meant dealing with hallway light and noise all night. Now? Total peace. Oscar comes and goes as he pleases, and I get a dark, quiet room. It’s sturdy, subtle, and works exactly as promised. If your cat’s a drama king or queen with a lock-picking streak, this little addition is a lifesaver. Couldn’t be happier with it!

Worth the price.
This is very cool. Good directions. Easy to install. Looks good. Has been working well to keep the dogs out of the cat food/liter area. Would like for the kit to pay more attention to the little details. The piece of velcro to hold the door up and open is lame. Too small. Not sticky enough to the door and not grippy enough to each other. Make it a complete kit and include an alcohol wipe to prep the surface before applying a larger velcro patch.

Practical and easy to use.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I like the fact that we can shut this when we need to keep the cat down in the basement, but both of our cats move through it with ease and it wasn’t overly difficult to install.

Neat concept. Tricky install. Not for hollow core door.
Pros: Love the concept of lockable hinge! And the neat/simple look of this “origami” cat door solution.Cons: not for hollow core doors. There’s nothing to drill the screws into. I solved it by dugging out the few exposed cardboard cells, then glueing two pieces of solid wood inside the door cavity. I attached the hinge to those. There’s ZERO room for error! You gotta install this PERFECTLY, otherwise the door and cut off corner won’t align and the locking mechanism won’t work (the corner will be “flapping”). Also better to install the screws in offset pattern. If you screw them in a mirroring pattern, they tend to rub on each other, preventing the locking mechanism. In retrospect, given how much finecking this product required to work somewhat properly, I’d opt for [a much cheaper] non-locking hinge and installing magnets inside the hollow core. Likely similar effort, but for less money. This product would definitely work way better with a solid wood door. I think advertising it for use with a hollow core door is misleading.

I love the Kitty Korner, so does Princess!
I bought this for my cat to walk through so we wouldn't have to leave the door proped open and yes it does work. My biggest issue is that once you cut your door and start the mounting procedure, you'll find that with a hollow door that there is very little for the screws in screw into which makes the device hanging very fragile. Once I had everything mounted, we just decided to leave the device in the upward, open position, and not mess with it so it will not tear out of the door. Does it work? Yes it does. Other that making sure your cut is PERFECT and you mount it correctly, instructions not a lot of help, then yes it will do what it's intended to do. The wife and Princess the cat love the Kitty Korner.

Dont
I am an expert DIY person and I bought this expensive kit thinking it would come with clear instructions and templates. Rather than just getting a couple of cheap hinges I thought this would be a better investment and my door wouldn’t be ruined.I was wrong. The written instructions are vague. The hinge lacks the guide dot seen on the video and instructions. The instructions spend their time showing you how to tape a template on rather than how to install the screws. There is no template as to where the screws go on your door.My door frame split. It wont close with the kitty corner downThe hinge does not want to lock in an up position.Just dont.
