Wood burning is time consuming so anything that speeds up time I'm all for, handy set with all the letters and numbers you need.

Forced to rate ONE STAR, BUT THAT'S TOO HIGH! This was one of the most frustrating products I've ever received. I'd LOVE to know how the manufacturer expects ANYONE to use it to burn letters or numbers into wood, ESPECIALLY if you want more than one character aligned. I tried every workaround possible (see photos), & I'm VERY good with wood & mechanical things, but had to give up after MANY attempts. There are 2 main problems - 1) The characters are on a CIRCULAR back plate, which makes lining up more than one character impossible. If they were on a SQUARE backing, & it weren't for design flaw #2, you "might" could align something like initials; 2) Design flaw #2 is the characters only stand MAYBE 1mm off of circular back plate, but actually slightly LESS than 1mm. This makes it IMPOSSIBLE to be able to see where the actual character is relative to where you want to burn. You couldn't get you eyes down low enough to see UNDER the character, again to see where it would burn, PLUS, they burn ON CONTACT, so no second chances.If anyone can figure out how to do this, they're better than I am, but as you can see in the photos, I tried everything with ZERO success with even ONE character, since the round backplate would hit BEFORE the character, burning a half moon into the wood.TOTALLY WORTHLESS PRODUCT, unless seller can prove me wrong. Switched to "burning paste," used a stencil & got perfect results.

I would have given it 5 stars had it came with upper and lowercase letters.

I received two R’s instead of a P. I did not notice this until it was too late to return it. If you purchase this set check all tips for accuracy as soon as you get them. Also, one of the stems is shorter than the others. It is threaded and attaches to the tool so hopefully it will still work but I haven’t tried using it yet. As others have mentioned, when the tip is on the tool, it’s very difficult to tell if the letters/numbers are lined up properly.

These work really well. Put initials and date on latest wood shelf I made.

I didn’t think about it when I ordered, but upon starting to use I realized I couldn’t tell where the bottom of the number/letter was once I try to place it down to burn. Truly a terrible design! I had to use them for a project but I tried to mark each round at the bottom. Better brands are square/rectangle so you can determine placement.

They burn the letter but there is no way to tell which side is up! I will be grinding a flat along the bottom of each letter so that I can get the letters upright and place the them accurately in a line. Why aren't they made with those features?
