Look no further
This works well with 2.5" HDDs and SSDs.I tried another similarly priced adapter from Amazon, but with a single USB cable, so no additional power connection. It wasn't stable, the connection kept breaking, be it SSD or HDD, connected directly to a USB 3.0 port on a computer or via a powered hub.However, this adapter works very well, even without connecting additional power. I have an SSD connected to an RPi 24/7 which is a media server. So far no issues.

Wonderful
This worked, it confirmed the hard drive was ok, and was able to transfer data. Arrived really quickly and is well constructed. What more do you want. It is a lot better than a caddy, which I've used before, because it is not fiddly to attach. Overall, this is a great product to have if ever your laptop dies and you want to eliminate the hard disk as a reason. It is also using an old hard drive as an external one.

Advise for sshd only
Working brilliantly with a ssdd but doesn't seem to like they older HDDs that need more power to spin them up.

Great cable for price
Basic cable that worked well for use upgrading my MacBook Pro’s Hard drive to a new SSD . Seems well made for the price .Delivery was fast considering current situation. Would definitely buy again .

Great.
I know little to nothing of computers. I spilt liqiud over my laptop and it did not appreciate the health giving properties of celery and carrot juiceand promptly died. I wanted to get the information off the hard-drive and did not even know what that looked like. A few youtube videos later I had taken the hard drive out of the laptop and took a chance that this was the adapter I needed to connect it to my new laptop and access my old files. It was and I did. Plug and play - no setting up.
