YAMAHA YRS-20BP Recorder - Soprano Recorder, Baroque fingering, Translucent Pink, Standard

This is a great recorder - especially for the price! I bought it for my son, who's just started lessons at school. It didn't need to make an especially good sound, although it does deliver that. It's a lovely bright cheerful colour, and my son won't be getting it mixed up with anyone else's either! Very easy to see when it needs a clean, too, due to the transparency. Very pleased with my purchase, and would recommend to anyone.

I ordered this for our 3 year old, more as a toy than an instrument, there were a number to choose from, but due to our reason for buying one we looked at the cheaper ones, the price made me think it would not be very good quality, I was totally wrong ! It is beautifully made, strong and easy to dismantle and clean. Excellent value for money and our 3 year old adores it, though she has a long way to go to get a recognisable tune out of it :o) Highly recommended.

Lovely recorder. Perfect for my 5 year old who is starting lessons. I used to play to a high standard and am totally happy with this recorder. Wish they'd looked like this when I was a kid!! Also got one for my 3 year old (in a different colour) and am able to cope when they both 'play' (for short periods). It comes with a little clear plastic

These Yahama coloured recorders are simply the best recorder you can get. The Aulos are good (but I don't like the mouthpiece as much). They are in tune over two-and-a-half octaves, have a good clear and even tone throughout the range and produce a great sound. I've used these for concerts and recordings and they work brilliantly. If you're thinkiong of getting a recorder for a beginner, you can't do better than this. In fact you can do a lot worse - many other coloured recorders simply don't work properly. Cheap wooden recorders are machine-finished and don't produce such good results although they do have the more reedy "recorder" tone . Yes, you can get a better recorder, but you'll have to pay an awful lot of money for it (imho over £100).

What else is there to say other than it's a well made product that is capable of making a far nicer noise that my daughter is capable of producing from it. When she plays it, I want to stab myself in my ears repeatedly to make them stop hearing. I hate recorders. They are the work of the devil.

Yamaha recorders are always perfectly in tune and also in tune with themselves across their range. The range is always good with both high and low notes being stable and easy to achieve. Just a little disappointed as I ordered 1 green and 1 blue. Neither were the colour originally depicted. The pale blue has been on site for years and I have bought that colour before. The green was a pale, leaf green. What they sent was two dingy turquoise colours, both the same. I’ve sent one back and kept the other. It’s not the worst thing in the world, of course, just one of life’s tiny disappointments. Interestingly, the colours pictured on Amazon have now changed. This is all since the third week in December.

This was bought as a present for a little girl who wants to learn to play the recorder. Having played the instrument for more years than I care to remember, I can say that it is good value for money, and the colour is an incentive for her to play as pink is her favourite colour. And the name Yamaha - what more can I say?

Possedendo già un flauto a digitatura tedesca (quello utilizzato nelle scuole) ho voluto acquistare uno a digitatura barocca per esercitarmi nel livello "avanzato" del flauto dolce. Il suono è migliore e più fluido rispetto a quello a digitatura tedesca (infatti è proprio caratteristica di quello barocco). La fattura è eccellente e ad un prezzo ottimo; e poi il colore e la trasparenza lo rendono davvero originale! Poi la Yamaha è una tra le migliori! Forse non è adatto per la scuola, visto che quasi sempre si consiglia quello a digitatura tedesca; ma secondo me è un valido acquisto per chi è interessato specificamente a questo tipo di flauto.

I also own an ivory recorder but this one is way better. A little bit of a gross reason, but I like the fact that you can see the condensation of your breath inside the translucent blue. That means you know exactly when to stop playing and when to start cleaning.

My daughter needed a recorder for 3rd grade music class, and this one fits all the school requirements. It’s lightweight, easy to hold, and very simple to take apart for cleaning — perfect for kids. The material is solid plastic, not flimsy at all, and it feels durable. The sound seems clear (we haven’t used it much yet), and it fits perfectly in her school backpack. The color is more of a translucent hot pink/red than what you see online, but she still loved it because it looks fun and different. It’s a real Yamaha, so you know it’s not a toy. Would also be a perfect gift, for any kid starting music class.
