Doctor Who: The Jodie Whittaker Collection (DVD)

The new doctor is FANTASTIC! Producers didn't scrimp on the special effects or any part of the budget. Really...really...great dvd set!

It was about time we saw a female Doctor, and Jodie Whitaker is a very good actress. Some of the stories are fantastic--I especially liked "Diodati", "Eve of the Daleks", and "Rasputin".That said, Whitaker's reign was a mixed bag. First, there were just too many companions. And while Whitaker's a good actress, I'm not that fond of her interpretation of the character--playing the Doctor as if she's missing part of her emotional and sociological make up. I suspect the decision to play her that way came from the show runner.Speaking of whom, while Chris Chibnall wrote some truly great stories during this period, he also wrote some that were just long, complicated, and off-putting. Sad that these had to be dumped on Whitaker and the other talents.Nonetheless, I highly recommend this set for any fan of Doctor Who.

It is a 10 disc dvd boxset of all her episodes during her turn as The Doctor!!!! Only issue I have with it is the fact that there aren't any Special Features!!!! Those are apparently on the individual blu-ray sets, which would cost a lot more than this boxset!!! No loss, though the complete blu-ray boxset is due out next month so the choice is yours. Recommended for all Doctor Who fans!!!!

I thought I would hate Doctor Who being a woman, but it wasn't bad at all.

Is it a good deal? Yes. However, it's not the complete set. For some reason season 13 stops at episode 6. So, if you are trying to see the "Timeless Child" you will be disappointed. There's only 4 episodes missing but they were the episodes that I bought this to see. Also, weirdly, my DVD player and my laptop won't play disk 7 at all. There's like a large watermark on the back of it. Meh. You get what you pay for, ig.

No matter what hate anyone has to give Jodie Whitaker, I absolutely love this collection. While it may not have had the best writing, stories, especially not the best show runner, it is not Jodie Whitaker's fault that show runner, Chris Chibnall had no idea what the h*ll he was doing.Jodie still did her best with what she had to work with & she did it brilliantly, as did her fellow costars.

For Doctor Who fans these are super fun. They have become a tradition and are geared for a younger audience. They include a recap of the previous year, puzzles, comics, stories, games and other fun stuff. The older volumes are quickly becoming collectors items and fetch some good prices. I look forward each year to a new volume with added facts to the Doctor Who universe. They are considerably cheaper purchased used on here as they are imports from GB and are often hard to find in the States. They make a great gift for Whovians young and old

And this one certainly was really enjoyable.
