A great cat/dog carrier. Big enough for most pets, and very sturdy. The handle is so positioned that when you pick up the carrier it's level (unless, of course, your pet decides not to remain in the middle!). The latches on the front & top doors are excellent -easy to open or close with one hand, and are very securely held by spring-loaded rods.One note: although it's simple to put together, the bolts need a bit of energy to push them through the very tight holes. However, any bolts which haven't been pushed through completely, will be pulled through when the wing-nuts are tightened. At 10 minutes, it was the longest part of the assembling.Shame that the holes on the side aren't all the same size as the largest so that Kitty could see more. The more visibility -the better!

This is an American built carrier, at the time of writing, the number one best selling pet carrier on the Amazon USA site. Since it doesn't seem that wildly available in the UK I was delighted that Amazon UK stocked it. Do take a look at the couple of thousand Amazon USA reviews before making up your mind up about this carrier.My history: The door hinge broke on my old 22" cat carrier and for reasons of storage space I tried to downsize to the Amazon Basics 19" carrier, in theory only 3" smaller, but which proved to be far too small for an adult cat. So back in the market for something larger, I hunted around till I found this one. It's a roomy transporter, but not heavy in my opinion, so large you could probably fit two friendly cats together in this! I've come to the conclusion that cat carriers are either too small for comfort or unnecessarily large for the average moggie...Overall this Petmate carrier has a good quality feel to it, the plastic seems rugged enough and I like that the top and bottom fit together with 9 screws + bolts (I was provided with plenty of spares). You can certainly take the top and bottom apart for storage, but it would be a faff in my opinion, but the option is there.The front door and in particular the upper hatch feel well constructed, and I see it as a positive that the locking mechanism for each require two fingers to open as you are required to squeeze a pair of dual sprung handles together to unlock. For this reason there is little chance of either opening accidentally, say if the carrier was accidentally dropped.In summary: a roomy, well built carrier with secure locks. Recommended.

Perfect for our bigger cat... she has room to manoeuvre. Easy to put together.... very secure.... top and side opens depending on what the cat prefer.

delivery was amazing got early so great very easy to put together and looks good quality haven't able use yet but it seems good quality and a good size I needed it for my rabbit rufus I know it is meant to be for dogs but my baby rufus is a big rabbit and the top opening is great cause he likes to be picked up from under his belly if I tried to pull him though the front he would not come willing and it would stress him out I think he got dropped as a baby and he is strong so the top opening is perfect for me so I think it is worth the money cause it looks like it will last and is big enough for him so 5 stars I love it very happy would buy again a great buy happy I brought it came in perfect condition

Overall this is a good strong carrier pretty heavy which can be a bit difficult is you have to walk far with it but the thing I find most annoying is that the top opening lid does not stay open when putting the cat in or taking it out and slams shut every time ( which is not only annoying but frightens a nervous cat ) so you have to sort of hold it open with your arm while putting the cat in and out if this could be improved to actually stay open it would make life a lot easier when going to the vets !

The carrier is well built and easy to assemble. It comes with spare screws and bolts which is a great idea. The doors lock securely. I used it to carry a seriously hurt cat to the vet. Having a door at the top is very useful because I was able to observe how the cat was. The carrier is quite spacious for an average sized adult cat. When dismantled it is easy to store.

My 9 month old kitten managed to chew his way out of his first carrier which was a fabric/mesh bag style. So I decided to look for something more sturdy. I did lots of research and this one seemed to have the best reviews. I'm really pleased I spent a bit more. He does not like to be in the car at all but was a little more content in this one than his previous one. The fastenings seem strong enough. I doubt he'll be able to open it, despite his determination! The top opening is useful to be able to get him out more easily when at the vets (he can't hide at that back!). He is also a very big cat (bigger than some adult cats already) so the large size of this one was appealing - although storing it is more difficult! Only used a couple of times but so far so good!

We wanted a box with a top opening to easily get out cats in and out. We have two one who is 3kg who is petite and one 5.5kg who's a large build. We bought it with the larger cat in mind and this box has ample room. We have even got both in there with room to spare. Great colour as well. It comes un-built but is really easy to put together and once together is really sturdy. Would highly recommend.
