Cheap and Cheerful
The original 1:32 class of kits released by Revell in the late 70's reboxed for the next generation to bash. This here kit is pretty basic and inaccurate when compared to Trumpeter and the likes who do 1:32 F4U. For the money it's a bargain though as you get a large chunk of plastic for your money that can be turned into a very nice kit with major work or even minimal efforts. Raised panel lines and a basic cockpit and landing gear can, if so wished, be replaced with more modern aftermarket parts and the panel lines can be scribed out also. a little extra wiring in the engine bay can make all the difference for display. I have a few of these kits and have yet to build one but one I bought for a friend has been a success as he is a huge F4U fan and loved his.

Really good model
I really enjoyed this small build. As an amateur, I build small WW2 fighter models for fun and because I love their design. I don't really mind the end results too much as building them is just a way for me to relax and spend my spare time. Even if it doesn't look great, I'm fine with that. However, this model is very well made and not too complicated to assemble. The only problem is that, due to the scale, some parts are incredibly small. Another positive thing is that the base colour of the plastic was white, making it easier to paint.

Brilliant detail
For a 1/72nd scale kit, this has all the look of a much larger scale. The cockpit is incredibly detailed, gunsight, 3 instrument panels, proper rudder pedals, just brilliant. A brilliant kit, well above par for this scale / budget!

Big but Basic kit- good for expanding with aftermarket
Got this on an amazon lightning deal promotion. It is an old molding from Revell of an iconic aircraft. The plastic is decent enough, however there is a lack of detail especially in the cockpit. Most modeller accept the kits shortcoming and use it as a platform to improve it with the mass of aftermarket detailing available for it (photo-etch, resin upgrades etc). Can be built up to a decent kit out of box, and a superb kit with a lot of effort. One of Revell's "large scale" models, so be mindful for display space once built!

Good detail, and good finished result
Good detailing on the mouldings, not too much flashing, Revell seem to mould in various colours, this one was white, but I have had blue, grey, this one white which seem to be plastic, but I had a green one recently which I think was moulded in poly prop, not very good at all. This one thankfully was good and the finished model, impressive.

Beware of Paints
Clear instructions and quite easy to construct after lot of sanding of plastic parts. My main disappointment was with the paint: (1) Cost of the 19 recommended Revell paints was almost twice cost of the model (2) Major areas for painting (eg. wings, undercarriage, bodywork) required mixing 2 colours (e. 90% blue matt with 10% anthracite grey matt for topside of wings. Sounds easy, but couldn't feel confident of consistency and accuracy of colour. Better if Revell provided single tins of the exact colours needed.

Corsair
Not bad for a revell kit, a few fit issues with wing roots and the front bulkhead section, model details not fantastic so i used a riveting wheel to put extra detail on and rescribed panel lines and made seat belts from masking tape. Pleased with the result.

Poor Quality
Way too much flash on the sprues & some of the major parts were badly warped.

Apparently this mold is from the 70s if that's possible. As a result the surfaces lack detail. Lots of flash, bleed and injection marks. You will spend as much time filing and sanding as assembly. Design wise the fit is decent. Cockpit lacks detail. I'm only halfway through and I have some concerns about the folding wings. We shall see. I am using it as a way to improve painting and weathering techniques before I spend some real money on the Tamika version.

I bought this kit because it is the same scale as the old wood Speedebilt Kits I made 60 years ago, but a lot more detailed. It was relatively easy to assemble but I ran into two issues. One the landing gear is weak and I had problems with it collapsing from the weight of the model You may need to strengthen the joints with MIlliPut putty. Two the wing folding I could not get to work. I had to decide to assemble it with or without the wings folded. Still a great kit and I am well pleased with it.
