Fun Optics kit
I got this toy for myself. I think playing around with science kits are a lot of fun. I wanted to learn something about optics and this allowed me to play with it. For kids, I know this would be a blast... I think working through the labs and working out the problems in the book would be a lot of fun. I could nitpick a bit about the plastic parts and some parts not aligning quite right, but for the level that is necessary to make the kit work, it is more that satisfactory and I had a lot of fun. Comes with the laser beams, the "F" light, and the 3 color LEDs... watching the colors blend together was very cool. Absolutely, have fun!

It's awesome!
We got it for our grandkids for Christmas and they love it! Science is a big deal to them and this was a perfect gift for them!

Really cool kit
I like the kit and my daughter did too. She asks a lot of questions about stuff, so I figured why not show her. The only issue I had was the prism being cracked and a piece chipped off somewhere between production and when I got it. The prism was the only thing in bubble wrap, yet the only thing that was broken. I would recommend not letting your child open it without a proper inspection first. The prism wasn’t sharp, but certainly could’ve been.

Cheap garbage
Barely usable, only had one or two items that actually worked well.

Curious customer
The box was already opened and pieces looked scuffed up.

A great kit to explore simple optic effects with kids
If you know a bit of optics, and can show it or explain it to your kid - it is a great thing to have!Refraction, focusing, imaging, color mix - easy to use and very vivid.

If you already know how to do the projects, the items are useful. Instructions too unclear!
This is a fun-looking box of interesting materials. Some seem quality, like a glass prism and some metal pieces, but others are plastic and more flimsy. At first the book of lab experiments looked promising and educational, but then trying to use it was not easy. In fact, not possible at all for us, but if you know the types of projects and how the items go together, maybe it would go better for you. The parts are not labeled and the instructions list what items are involved in each experiment, but which ones are they out of everything in the box? Uhhh. We couldn't hold the interest of our target audience (smart tween) long enough to sort through and figure it out. The instructions say things like " Step 1: line up the gadgets" for the second experiment. And "Step 1: Cut out three cardboards" for the first project. After feeling pretty dumb at not being able to cut out cardboards or line up gadgets (what gadgets? they are all gadgety! what cardboard? the cardboard in the package? that is more like cardstock paper, is it "cardboard?" did they mean to cut up the box it came in? ) we didn't make it to experiment three. Good luck to you and I hope you get something more from this box of cardboards and gadgets than we were able to.
