durable enough for me to give it 5 stars and buy it again
I purchased Apr 27, 2022, and today, February 11, 2025 the string snapped, so with multiple uses on most weekdays, it lasted *almost* three years. That is durable enough for me to give it 5 stars and buy it again. I carried 11 keys and two alan wrenches on it and it was nearly too strong. I might have been able to use a slightly weaker one. The clip held onto my jeans securely, I usually don't wear a belt, and it didn't bother me at all.

Almost perfect
My keybak managed the full weight of my key ring quite well, lasting nearly a year through the rigors of my job. It appears that the plastic ring that the cable runs through wore enough that the thin shell was able to rest against the cable, which probably led to an early demise. If this piece were replaced with something a little tougher I could see this lasting even longer. Overall, a worthwhile spend, will probably buy another one.

made it a year
Was bought 5 August 2022. Kevlar cord snapped at the end / keyring attachment on 22 August 2023. There is a small "o" bushing / ring to the case to help avoid the fraying, I assume. Try not to lose this when / if you attempt the repair. It is showing a groove from use, but not worn through. The device holds up well with the 25+ key on the ring. You can self repair if you are inclined. I repaired the plastic one I had bought in 2018 quite a few times, till the clip and housing shattered.Maybe if the added a heat shrink sleeve / covering on that last 1/4" or so after the device is completed - it would allow longer before fraying & breaking?I really need that 13 oz. strength. Would buy again...

The "Key" retractor to success.
I am a custodian at a public school with more keys than you can imagine. This key fob/holder is amazing!Instead of having to unhook my keys form my waist, I just pull them from the retractable holder. When done using the keys, I just let go and it retracts without fail. High quality and easy to use. I should've bought this way sooner than I did. I'm very pleased with the purchase and I highly recommend it for anyone in the custodial or any other field that requires you to carry a large amount of keys that you use frequently throughout the day.

Excellent, Just Plan to Replace Roughly Yearly
It lasted 18 months with a 275g (9.5 oz) GPS (dog tracker, actually) hanging off of it, used roughly daily on hikes. That may not sound long-lived to some, but as an engineer familiar with materials, I'd say that's not bad duty life for a thin kevlar string. Just don't expect it to last forever; nothing is indestructible.

Strong spring
Not too excited about this. I have a large and heavy key ring but this still pulls it up and almost out of my pocket. It is an uncomfortable feeling.I think I’m going to use it in my work bench to hold a tool I use frequently.

Great durability and made in the USA
We use 5 of these at work with each set carrying about 14 keys of different sizes totaling about 6 oz.. They are used repeatedly to open drawers and display cases on a daily basis for the past 2 years and the spring coils are still working like they did when new. The tension is just right so you don't have too much recoil but enough to carry all our keys. We use these to keep keys on our persons and prevent them from being left out accidentally. The cord is long enough for us to unlock bottom drawers while standing, a great alternative to using a lanyard.
