Game Changer
I had always been squeamish about the idea of menstrual cups but anxiety about an overnight work event coupled with a super heavy flow led me to finally giving them a shot at 34 years old. I had been a pad user up until this point and as tampons don't work for me due to a low cervix, I had wrong assumed that cups would be the same. I chose the larger size and it was an absolute game changer. There was definitely a learning curve, it took me several goes of inserting and removing to get there but I did. After I inserted it for the first time, I had some trouble and did the classic panic that I wouldn't be able to get it out. The seal was strong and it took a few goes before I was fully comfortable reaching in to break it. As someone who has never given birth, I also found the final moments of removal a little painful but bearable. For me, the cup sat with the base just at the entrance to my vagina so with a gentle push from my pelvic floor, it brought it down enough for me to grip and I found I didnt need to use the stem at all. I worried about the cup spilling on removal but again, this was not an issue. Generally, the cup was comfortable. I did have painful cramps this cycle but it would be hard to size of the cup influenced this at all. I could feel the stem as the cup sat low for me so I would be tempted to trim the stem. Capacity wise, I have a heavy flow so I worried that the cup would overflow or leak but this didn't happen. I changed the cup 4 times a day at my heaviest, on waking, at lunch, when I got home from work and before bed and it would be about half full. Overall, I would say that I wished I'd have made the change from pads to a cup earlier. It was infinitely more comfortable than using pads and was wonderful not to have to worry about flooding as I usually do due to my heavy flow. I did find that I had to wear some extra protection as there would be a little residual blood after each changing but I am now planning on buying some reusable pads to deal with this. The added bonus of knowing you're not contributing to environmental damage is also wonderful. Happy first time user, very happy I gave it a go!

It works! Had it sussed almost straight away!
Very impressed. I find to relax as much as possible all along the way at each point is key! I use dove soap and rinse well. Also bought an electric steamer to sterilise. Nobody mentioned where I was reading up anywhere!!! the pain/shock you get when taking it out!!! Also was a bit uncomfortable the first day/night I almost gave up on it :-( so glad I didn’t and gave it another days trial as day 2 was so much better! I found the more in it was the less pain/uncomfortable I got. I’m in my 49s 1 Caesarian. I got the small. I could have got the mini. Not sure if I can keep on with the uncomfortable feeling when removing? Might have to change to a mini…. I’ve still give 5***** s as this has nothing to do with the product it is me :-) Brilliant thing to use. I would definitely recommend but I would not recommend leaving it in for any longer than 24 hours!!! Another thing I didn’t read anywhere. As you would almost certainly be asking to get into trouble! Keep it clean and regularly aired to clean and you’ll be fine! Love it !!! So much better than the old way we have been living for years!!! :-)

Ok
I ordered a L based on looking into the cup & customer service agreement. I’m a first time user but have watched many YouTube videos and googling etc. This cup seems to sit on my bladder, making urinating very slow. It doesn’t always pop & requires a lot of fiddling (pressing the walls to try make extra room for it to expand). I’ve tried the different fold methods, inserting lower and higher (it couldn’t go any lower without it showing!). Emptying several times a day to try and get used to it or to correct leaking (cup not full) Customer service went over a few techniques to try, which I have done. I’d like to try the Small cup as I’ve read these issues could be due to incorrect size & I’d also like to try it on lighter days, but seems that they actually want L returned to them although it’s been used!! Apparently it will be destroyed but that is completely gross and something I’m definitely not comfortable with! I went with this brand for their 100% satisfaction guarantee - but I’m not satisfied at all. Edit::: They have now offered a full refund so I can purchase the size S without returning the L. The S has been great, it doesn’t press on my bladder & actually unfolds so much easier

Amazing customer service
Ok, so the menstrual cup wasn’t for me. I have had 3 children by natural delivery and I think my pelvic floor is a distant memory. I tried both sizes and also the sensitive ones. I love the idea of the cup and would have loved for it to have worked for me. However - what I will say is that I have never experienced customer service quite like what I got with Lena. I emailed them for advice and they just could not do enough to try and help me. They responded quickly, offering advice and, suggestions and solutions. When it was clear the standard versions weren’t working, they refunded me so I could buy the sensitive version and when I didn’t get on with the sensitive version, they sent me another refund so I can try the menstrual disc instead. This is a product the don’t make, but I am very sad as I would definitely recommend Lena as a company and would want them to have my money more than anyone else! I highly recommend trying Lena and if it doesn’t work for you, I’m confident that they would look after you as they did me.

Very finnicky menstrual cup user here. Very sensitive (have vulvodynia). I've used cups over the course of a couple years once my cycles came back postpartum. I've used S**oon Cup and Blos**m Cup, and now this Lena sensitive one. S**oon Cup was very stiff, uncomfortable for me, could only wear for a couple of the first days of a period without irritation. I found Blos**m Cup after that and it was much more flexible and comfortable. I tossed it when I got pregnant because I had used it quite a while and then it would be sitting there for like 18 months unused and I wanted to start out fresh when I got period again. Well, I finally had a chance to use this Lena Sensitive. My last baby was huge so I figured even though I'm petite, I should go with the Size 2 as I imagine things got relaxed internally. It was a good choice for me. I steam sterilize it with Pixie Cup Sterilizer. PROS: - unbelievably soft and flexible, even the rim - silicone is smoother, not as matte finish as others, which makes it easier to clean and rinse - has three prominent rings at the base to get a grip with fingers when removing (the ridges you don't feel at all) - has excellent suction - easy to clean, no had to wash areas (stem area is solid if you snip it off so nothing collects in there) - the size 2 has good capacity, no leaks or overflows on heavy days CONS: - the stem (this is a problem for me with all cups, so I snipped it off right away because it felt not good; however, technically the stem is very flexible if you don't have sensitivity problems, don't worry the rings give you enough grip to easily remove without the stem) - the cup does have some length, but not excessively, but I seem to have a higher cervix Highly recommend this cup! Make sure you just relax when you insert it because I had not good luck getting it to open if I wasn't relaxed. Great success just starting over and relaxing, quite good seal. I can't feel it at all when it is in.

The learning curve is a bit hard. And it's not that soft and flexible. Great product, great packaging and great delivery. Thanks Lena and Amazon.

Fellow women!! So I am pretty sure alot of you are interested in switching to menstural cups versus the regular pads and tampons. I can tell you that making this switch has made me feel so free and comfortable during my period, I can do anything! I did alot a research before purchasing my lena cup and am very pleased with it so far. First of all it is a decently priced, unlike other mentstural cups, especially if you are just planning on trying it out. It is also one of the best priced bell shaped cups out there. It is made out of soft 100% medical-grade silicone that is easy to bend, but holds it's structure enough to spring back to it's orginal form after inserting it in. For first timers I would recommend trying to practice putting it in a few times before your first time used during a period; RELAX and give yourself some time- swatting on the floor was the easiest way I found, but after a while you get used to it! After putting it in just make sure it did spring back and nothing is preventing it from making a complete sucction; low vs. high hanging cervix. It is a little scary at first and don't worry it won't get stuck up there, just use your kegel muscles to push it back down (If you aren't sure how to use your kegel muscles don't worry you will figure it out!). I have learned so much about my body ever since using the lena cup - I know heavy days vs. light days. No there isn't any period smell! Sure other people may not be able to smell it, but you, yourself sure can. Be careful when breaking the seal and pulling it out; don't pull to fast or you may spill it over yourself. Keep a good grip on the grip rings and slowing pull it out; without letting it slip out of your grip. Read the directions that come with it; very helpful! My experience! I guess I was lucky, because after practicing a few times when I wasn't on my period I was able to put it in correctly and didn't have any leaks! I still wore a panty liner just in case. After I put it in I literally couldn't feel it; I was shocked. I when through my day very concous of it so a few times I thought I felt it, but after a little while I completely forgot about it. I did start spotting a little bit on my first day, but it was due to a heavy flow kind of day- I took out the Lena cup poured the blood out, rinsed it with warm water and a little bit of soap and then put it back in - Volia no spotting. On my heavy day I took it out a total of 3 times, regular and light days 2 times. When I started spotting on my heavy day I thought I bought the wrong size - so don't fret you might be having a heavy day.Sleeping at night was one of the things I was really worried about; Make sure you empty the cup at the lastest before you go to sleep and really check to make sure that it is one correctly - I didn't make sure the first night, because I got cocky and I ended up leaking big time, the next night I made sure to check and empty it out right before I went to sleep and it was perfect! I was worried about the air holes at first, but in the end it didn't cause an leakage. I was very active during my period and saw no leaks, the last few day I was daring enough to go without panty liners (I ran out and saw no rush to run to the store). If it helps I have fairly regular periods that last 5 days - It is usually heavy during the first few days and lightens up. I feel bloated and sometimes experience cramps - the Lena cup did not cause any of these symptoms to worst. I am truly impressed with this product and will continue to use it for a long time. Tips: If you are wondering about soft vs. hard silicone - I would go with soft, because it is more versitle - When I was figuring out how to put it in and want something a little harder I would run the cup under cold water and it would cause it to get a little bit firmer for insertion and then soften up within the body!
