Pioneer HDJ-500-K DJ Headphones - Black

Felt weird and sounded different at first but when plugged into any pioneer product or any product with a good soundcard the sound quality was fantastic! Really enjoy these. They blow my beats solos away! Only thing that annoyed me is the fact that wearing them for long periods of time hurt your ears and feel quite uncomfortable. Otherwise best 80 something bucks ive spent in my life!

Great bass, use exclusively with a Pioneer DDJ-SX controller. Great boom for your buck!

I have to say I'm very surprised by how well they perform. I'm driving them off a NuForce USB uDAC2 And they sound amazing. They respond very well to lows and highs, mids are a BIT unclear, but for $80 it's worth it. It's still a pleasure to listen through these. They're great for someone like me who want's a nice sturdy pair of headphones. Having two cords is a nice addition, the coiled cord would be very useful for somebody who wants them as monitor headphones. The straight cord is great for using them on a PC or an MP3 player. Overall a VERY good pair for $80

For mobile Dj to club Djs, the HDJ-500 headphones are good quality for the price. From experience as a demo Dj to event Dj, most headphones tend to clip if you have your mixer/audio source turned up high/peaking in the red. I'm not sure how big most ears are lol, but my HDJ-500 headphones fit perfect and are comfortable. Overall not a bad headphone to monitor with.

Purchased this as a gift for my DJ son; he loves the thing. He had researched some headphones and opted for these. So far so good.

Cons:The connector between the left headphone and the detachable cable is not reliable. I have treated the headphones with gentle care, but after only a few weeks, the connector started to fail. By fail, I mean, I have to jiggle the cable when I plug it in, in order to get the connection correct. Otherwise, the sound quality will be absolutely terrible.Pros:When the connection between the cable and the left headphone is good, the sound quality is great. Plenty of bass.

This is one of the best headphones I ever had in many different ways. For me the most important factor with headphones is the sound quality. It doesn't matter how many different ways headphones fold, if the quality is poor you get tired very fast and honestly I wouldn't want to pay headphones folding a main reason I decided to go after this particular model.In terms of sound now, the main ranges, bass, mid, treble are very clear with the HDJ500. The max input power is very important and it's high enough, at 2W coupled with a high sound pressure 105 db/mW (can damage your hearing btw) to cover even the most demanding conditions when spinning. The second great feature, is that these headphones come with 2 different detachable cables so you can use them during spinning or for casual use when in the house or outside with your smartphone, tablet, laptop etc. And the third feature which is often overlooked with headphones is those removable cables. Ok maybe when the cable is soldered you have a slight sound advantage but...the way this pair of headphones are designed is very easy to add a portable bluetooth receiver if you need to do things around the house while listening. I'm posting a pic about it, the hardest part is to find a single 3.5 to 2.5 male to male plastic adapter and at this point I just used what I had available with 2 separate adapters. It works great maybe I lose 10-20% sound quality from the bluetooth audio but I get the remote capability and of course you can also start adding something more advances like mic, remote etc.Now if you try to find something equivalent in the market you will spend way more, maybe double of what this pair of headphones costs.

Awesome as it expected

Pagata meno di 80 euro (e inizialmente acquistata come muletto), non mi sta assolutamente facendo rimpiangere la mia adorata Technics andata in pensione un pò troppo presto. Leggera e robusta, riproduce dei bassi da paura ed è molto fedele soprattutto quando suono in vinile. Più che dignitoso il comportamente su medi e alti. Personalmente, mi ci trovo da dio a livello ergonomico perchè sollevo il padiglione sinistro sopra la testa e giro il destro (l'unico padiglione girevole) sull'orecchio fino praticamente a "incastrarlo" perfettamente sul mio cranio. Consiglio l'acquisto come cuffia "da battaglia" e non solo.

Nachdem ich mir Equipment zum DJing / Auflegen zugelegt hatte musste natürlich auch ein geeigneter Kopfhörer her. Nachdem ich viele verschiedenen Modelle von verschiedenen Herstellen auf hatte aber nie wirklich zufrieden war habe ich mir aufgrund des guten Rufs von Pioneer als Hersteller von Equipment in dieser Richtung die HDJ - 500 bestellt, die meiner Ansicht nach als DJ Kopfhörer im Einsteiger Preissegment etwas teuer sind als die restlichen getesteten Modelle von anderen namhaften Herstellern in diesen Bereich wie Reloop.Vorab: Ich bin kein Experte was Kopfhörer angeht ! Dies sind tatsächlich die ersten On Ear Kopfhörer, die ich mein Eigen nennen kann und meine Bewertung erfolgt rein nach meinem Eindruck.Die HDJ-500 sind sehr bequem und fangen auch nach stundenlangen Tragen nicht an unangenehm zu drücken oder einen einzuengen. Man merkt nach einiger Zeit Dauertragen kaum noch, dass man sie auf hat. Bei einer zehnstündigen Fernbusfahrt haben sie mir durchgehend gute Dienste geleistet und das als ein DJ Kopfhörer, der ja in erster Linie für einen völlig anderen Zweck konzipiert ist.Der Sound ist nach meiner subjektiven Meinung als Laie auf diesem Gebiet absolut zufriedenstellend für den Preis. Die Kopfhörer haben einen guten Bass und auch sonst macht es Spaß mit ihnen zu hören :).Nun zum eigentlichen Zweck, dem Auflegen. Die Lautstärke lässt sich sehr weit steigern, sodass auch in lauten Clubs (kann hier nicht aus Erfahrung berichten) problemloses Monitoring möglich sein sollte. Beim Tragen blenden die Kopfhörer Außengeräusche recht gut aus, nach außen dringt jedoch meiner Meinung nach recht viel (was für einen DJ Kopfhörer natürlich in Ordnung ist) .. im Zug oder Bus kann man bei hoher Lautstärke schnell auch andere Leute belästigen. Da ich bisher ausschließlich mit In-Ears Musik gehört habe kannte ich dieses Problem nicht.Im Gegensatz zu den anderen getesteten Modellen lassen sich die Kopfhörer auch angenehm tragen, wenn sie lediglich um den Hals hängen (kommt bei DJs bekanntlich oft vor). Eine Kapsel lässt sich hierbei in beide Richtungen verdrehen, sodass Monitoring in diesen "hängenden" Zustand mit einem Ohr möglich ist, wenn man den Kopfhörer geschickt mit der Schulter ans Ohr führt.Mitgeliefert werden 2 Kabel eines als Spiralkabel für große Bewegungsfreiheit beim Auflegen und ein kürzeres, normales, welches ich nehme, wenn ich die Kopfhörer am Laptop oder Handy benutze. Beide Kabel können mit einem mitgelieferten Adapter auch in eine große Klinke umgewandelt werden (die genauen mm Zahlen habe ich beim Schreiben dieser Rezension leider nicht im Kopf). Das Kabel wird an einer Seite in den Kopfhörer gesteckt und durch eine Drehung arretiert, sodass es auch nicht herausfallen kann.Alles in Allen ein super Kopfhörer, mit dem ich vollkommen zufrieden bin und für den ich eine uneingeschränkte Kaufempfehlung aussprechen kann.
