Stunning Design; Sturdy and Large Capacity
Very happy with this large and beautiful designer teapot. I needed a larger one for making a quantity of iced tea. The sale discount was great. I needed to replace my smaller green one, and this matches my coffee maker and green basket perfectly. Love it! Keep in mind that all exterior surfaces, including the handle and spout are metal, so I recommend using a padded mit when handling it hot.

It looks good, but the lid sticks.
I bought this for its looks, and it doesn't disappoint. Unlike so many other things these days that pretend to be green but turn out to be teal, this is green. And it looks great. The lid sticks a bit, but I don't use it much so it doesn't bother me.

A+ for aesthetics, C- for functionality
So, for the price point and from such a brand as Kate Spade I guess I expected that they could make the handle out of something that is insulated and doesn't get hot. As it is, you absolutely must use a potholder, oven mitt, tea towel, etc. to pick the kettle up after boiling. Just adding another step. Also, the inside being black makes it really hard to see inside and tea kettles are just famous for buildup of minerals from the water and growing *things* that are unappetising if they're not cleaned frequently. Making it so dark in there just means it's easier to forget to clean it and you might not know what you're drinking until it's too late. The top is nice and big, so if you've got a flashlight and can see what's going on in there, you can get your whole hand in there to clean it. That's a plus. The spout is really, really difficult to open on mine. I haven't seen it mentioned, so I guess mine is the only one, but it's dangerously hard to open. If I keep it open while it boils, the whistle doesn't work, but if I keep it closed to hear the whistle, the waters gone cold by the time I wrestle the thing open (or I've burnt myself). The hinge seems like it's fine, it's not crooked or anything, and it doesn't look like it can be adjusted. The colour is the best thing about this kettle. It's a true Kate Spade green, it pops, it's bright, it's unique, and it should look great in almost any kitchen.

Nice looking but has some flaws - had a defect Kate Spade will not cover as purchased through Amazon
Looks great in our kitchen however the whistle barley works (can't hear it if you're not standing in the kitchen) and the screws that hold the handle onto the base need to be retightened every week. Poor quality for the price, would look for something better if purchasing again.UPDATE:Has this item for 10 months with vey little use. I washed this item today and the inner glaze flaked off a piece the size of a quarter. Now its down to the bare metal. Called Kate Spade as per the Amazon website instructs, they do not cover as it was not purchased through them. Will not honor 1 year warranty. Extremely poor customer service. Buy something else.
