'PROTECT' - your carpet from 'delivery guys/gals, wet/muddy boots'.
Easy to put down onto your carpet by rolling it out directly from the 'tube' and it sticks extremely well, with no problems removing it from your carpet afterwards, an excellent product.

Tough and secure
Excellent job. Stayed in place firmly and protected my carpet entirely. Did not tear or puncture and I had ladders on it and it was in place for over a week. It was still very sticky on removal but lifted no problem. I would definitely use this again and I would definitely recommend it. Covered my 28 sq metre living room. I overlapped it more than necessary. Well worth every penny. Delivered quickly and very easy to cut.

protects all floor coverings when decorating/painting
This is the second time I have bought this protective film. It is a must really if you want to protect your floors from paint, plaster or anything really. This time the film was not as good as the time before as there were several joins in it which was not ideal. We used it on the stairs and carpets last time and this time we laid it over newly laid porcelain tiles. It went down really well and I was a bit worried about it not coming off again but it came off easily. I would recommend not doing very long stretches of it (like 10 metres) at a time because when it comes to taking it up again it is harder. Also I noticed at the points on the corners of the room where we had put down frog tape over the plastic, it made it easier to start the lifting process. It is a very good product even though it does seem very expensive, the alternative of not putting it down and getting paint or something else on your floor is just not worth the risk. One thing I would also mention is that it is much easier if you have two people putting it down, one to hold the roll and one to be down on the ground actually placing it on the floor on their knees.

tl:dr this works well.
Having subjected it to a pretty serious test I thought I'd write a review. Laid it in October, took it up in March. One main room plus stairs/landings and bits of 3 other rooms. So 5 different age/type/value carpets and some vinyl. The carpet in the main room was completely covered. I knew I'd need a bench so made an area of cardboard sandwiched between 2 layers of this stuff for a workmate & me to stand on while eg deglazing and rebuilding sash windows, mixing plaster and so on. There was a lot of work done in that room, including using the windows to access scaffolding, so heavy tools and boots etc. At one point I had to lift some of the carpet to get under the floor, and this stuff stayed attached and it all went back down fine. It's stood up remarkably well, very few punctures, and the carpets all look fine afterwards. Mostly when it came up it pulled off tiny fibres but nothing substantial. There is a slight sticky residue on hard surfaces, vinyl etc, but I can't feel anything on the carpets. After a few days the covered areas are still cleaner than uncovered bits, so I don't think there's a sticky surface to attract dust. tips: the cardboard worked really well, I'll do that again; don't use a vacuum cleaner, it lifts the plastic; when laying think about overlaps so that all sweeping can be done in one direction to avoid lifting edges with a broom; don't use every last bit of the roll, keep some back for repairs (oops!).
