CowboyStudio Hand Painted 6ft X 9ft Ocean Blue Muslin Video/Photo Backdrop

I am not sure what people are complaining about- this product is great. I took it to a shoot in Nashville and it worked well behind my interview subjects. We used it different ways; to block off light coming in from a large window, as sound baffling and to block off part of a room. It is really large - much larger than expected. I made a simple drawstring bag for it but it could be stuffed into a pillow case, too. I crumple it up and stuff it into the bag, then use tape to stretch it out when it's on the stand. I bought the Fancierstudio 8 x 10 background stand for it and the two worked well together.

I purchased this after reading what I can only describe as "horror story reviews" from some other customers. I was leery, but I really needed a nice blue-mottled muslin, and CowboyStudio has the best price and the most unique looking one available. So I sucked it up and gave it a shot. I am glad I did!Like many other reviews, it is a little light weight, but at this price you shouldn't expect anything else. Despite being light weight, it has a great feel to it. Care was taken in the making of this piece, and it does show.The blue and mottling are not exactly like the preview image though one shouldn't expect them to be as muslins are supposed to vary, even among the same variety. The lighter blue and silvery areas catch the light beautifully, more blue than silver, and the dark mottled areas give it a nice suede effect. Even though it is lighter weight, an additional backdrop is not needed though I use one anyway just to ensure the safety of this piece.I was happy to see that the coloration was very similar as some other reviews for this seller state that they received merchandise that was nothing like it was described. I can state happily that this was not the case for me, and since purchasing this piece I have purchased another of their muslins to the same satisfaction.You can't beat the speed and price of CowboyStudio. They have impressed me twice with the quality of their product and the speed with which they got it to me.

This backdrop is perfect for my purposes. It arrived quickly and as advertised except the color. The picture of the item a little deceiving but I don't think it's intentional. It is lighter blue than in the photo but the pattern is as seen in the photo. It comes folded up but I immediately wadded it up in a ball. Why you ask? Because the irregular pattern on the backdrop is not impacted by irregular creases. However, if you try to keep it folded you will be bothered by the creases in your photos.This backdrop should hold up for some time. The stitching for the pocket which is designed for the rod that holds it up is done well and doesn't look like it will come apart. Overall I am very satisfied and would have given it five stars if it weren't for the lighter color.

Nice backdrop for the price. It is a lot lighter in color then the picture shows, but still looks nice. It comes folded but it is easy to get rid of the wrinkles. Basically hang the backdrop and use clips on both side to keep the backdrop taught. Then using hot water, spray the background wherever you see a crease or wrinkle. After about 5 minutes the back drop will dry and you will no longer see any creases or wrinkles.

Have read many reviews about this being a cheap product and unusable, but I disagree. I have not owned professional quality muslin to be able to compare, but for a person just starting a small in home studio, this works just fine. I don't think it is machine washable, but I steamed it to get the folding creases out and they came out fine. Color is very similar to the one in the photo, with minor variations, but that's to be expected from a hand painted muslin. This product is incredible for the price paid. I'd recommend to anyone just starting out.

Okay, so the muslin didn't actually save my gig, but it got my client to sign me up for an event. The background was the same color as my client's logos and marketing, so they picked it. The picture on the site is fairly accurate, and with a little bit of lighting trickery, I was able to boost it to closely approximate the client's logo colors (really, pretty much so that the pics would stay in line with marketing they're doing online and through brochures and whatnot). I paid a little under $60 for this one, so it was well worth it.

I like the light weight. I put it in a 30 liter gym bag ... I just wad it up and put it in the bag. A lot better than paying $200 for something else.

Very nice background. Novice photographer. Bought this for business portrait. Holds its wrinkles, but not a problem since it's beyond the depth of field. Color's good, although darker than expected (also not a problem). Material's plenty heavy since it's hung in front of a dark wall. Might be some see-through if the area behind it was well lit. Very inexpensive, but the quality's better than expected. Completely satisfied.
