Worked great for windows 7
I have windows 7 and it worked great for me, it only works on one hard drive connection type! Look at pic closely! Wish they included adapters for all hard drive connections

Do Your Research First - There are lots of different ESataP standards
Even though my (old) pc has a specialized EsataP port (not plain old ESata) that "should" be able to power a 3.5 inch internal sata drive, it does not. I purchased this cable with that in mind. I did the research and made sure that this was the correct cable and that it would supply 3 volts, 5 volts, and 12 volts. But when I plugged it in, nothing worked. Beware, ESataP is supposed to be able to provide all 3 voltage levels and should be able to power up a 3.5 inch 5200 rpm or 7200 rpm internal sata drive. ..."Should" ... Maybe the cord is bad...maybe not. There is a great amount of confusion and, apparently, a few different standards with the same form factor (ESataP vs ESata). Also, from what I can glean, it depends on your PSU. So....buy this cable and be prepared to be disappointed.I am giving the cord 5 stars because the cord is probably fine. It is probably the PSU or that particular model of PC. And, yes, I know the port in the photo says esata. But I assure you, it is a type of esatap (because of the "ears" on the port.)

Works well
This works well, is solidly built and is a good price.

Test the plug on both sides
I got 2 of these. 1 of them works great, the other only has high speed depending on the way the usb-c plug is inserted. If it's slow, I have to unplug it and flip it over to plug it back in. Probably a bad pin or something.

Great for pre-housed SATA SSD’s
2.5” SSD’s, while slow, are great for their ruggedness and durability. Not only benefitting from the lack of moving parts, but housed in its own shock-resistant housing. The cost of sacrificing speed for reliability… or a slow transition to today’s mass storage hardware.Either way, this allows you to ditch the housing and controller setup for a cable with a controller within. Again, no need to rehouse a prehoused SSD.I have a few 4TB WD SSD’s I used with my Atomos, as a TB2 RAID0 scratch disk on my iMac, and in a Synology RAID1 NAS. The transition to M.2 NVME has been slow for me.This allowed me to scrape those drives quickly, like an assembly line. Best $10 I’ve spent in years.

Still working well after time
I've had occasional trouble with SDD electronics perhaps inexpensive from Amazon. I've had this a while and no problems, so I'm giving it five stars.

Functioned as expected.
I used these cables in conjunction with a SATA to eSATAp card in my host machine. They work as expected, just the same as the other SATA drives that are connected internally.
