Velvet Black Wash and Dye

Easy to use
This is different from the washing machine dye that i have also used successfully. This one is ready to go, not need to add salt, and you do everything on a lower temp (40), whereas the machine dye needs added salt (and lots of it) and you have to go up to 95 degrees, which can be a little harsh on your clothes. The downside to this one is that you can only use one packet at a time so you can only put in 500g of clothes to get the full colour (1 pair of jeans, a few shirts). The other one lets you double up so you can dye mroe at a time and it does save more energy/water for that reason. That all said, Dylon make good dyes and nohting has faded (yet). I put in 3 shirts (turquoise, yellow and grey) and all dyed jet balck. Except for the buttons and stitching. Looked good if quirky.Am buying again.

Slight disappointed
I bought the large size of this product as I had several items I wanted to dye.I was disappointed to read on the packet that to get a true black colour you can only dye 500gms (dry weight) of clothes.Overall result was good for a single piece of clothing.

Beautiful Black Dye
Needed to dye a favourite rugby shirt that had been colour damaged when I tried to remove a stain. Due to size, I therefore decided to dye this black but using a bucket rather than the machine. I did this outside rather than risk the dye splashing onto floors etc and am glad I did as it made the whole process worry free. I followed the instruction on after care (rinsing etc) then left to dry. The item was originally blue and white stripes and after dying both colours were a uniform shade of black but the original blue stripe a very slightly darker shade than the white. However, this gave a fantastic effect. Well pleased.

Save yourself a fortune
I would recommend this product to anyone looking to refresh faded black clothing - wet your items, pop Dylon in the machine on items usual cycle until complete, wash again to get any residue out and then clean your machine.

It works, but it isn't worth it.
I can't criticise the effectiveness of this product, it dyed a pair of blue trousers perfectly black. But I have spent 2 days (so far) trying to get my washing machine clean again, I followed the instructions exactly, including how its says on the instructions on the back of the packet to clean the machine afterwards using bleach and detergent if needs be, but it just didn't work, I have been running the machine constantly since in an attempt to get it clean again, even after the bleach I had to use a cleaning spray and a cloth to scrub the seals and the door clean and they still look tinged black, and I've done several service washes with the machines recommended service wash products, and it is still putting small dots of black onto white laundry which is causing black stains. I would not use this product again despite how good the dyed trousers look, because it just takes too much to get the washing machine clean again, I would not recommend this product.

Does the Job!
I had a pale blue linen top which became pinky/blue after washing with a red item; thought the top was ruined, but purchased this dye, with trepadation put it into washing machine and let it do it's thing. The top is like brand new, velvety black! Just a quick wipe round the rubber at the door and a quick wash later, washing machine cycles clean - no dye residue. Never throw loved faded clothes away again!!

Be careful
I purchased this product to revive a faded pair of jeans. The colour is now better than when they were new. The down side is the amount of time it takes to get the washing machine clean. I did 2 full cycles and about 3 rinses, plus wiped it by hand to start with. I would use this again but not in my washing machine.

Excellent product.
Bought this for my Dad who was having problems with constipation and it really seems to have worked for him.
