Awesome lights
We wanted to spice up our living room area and this was recommended by a friend who was a big fan of Nanolights. I went along with this because I liked the idea that I can use the pannels as a wall decor when not being used as a light source. As you see the arrangement we had is different in the video and photo I uploaded. The nanolight hexagon pannels are awesome, it works great and is it kind of synced with the TV. We were gifted the TV strip lights but it did not work for us as I have seen in the advertisement. Maybe it’s the way we installed it but really there’s only one way of installing it so I’m not sure why. Nanoleaf has an app ou can use but to me, the app is ot very user friendly. We changed the name of our wifi so all the previously conected devices got disconnected and it was so hard to reconnect the nanoleaf devices. We alo have govee lights and those reconnected easily. I actually reachout to tech suport because until now we have not yet reconnected the TV strip lights. Another thing I want to mention is the nanoleaf tech support is very responsive. It is unfortunate that I know this because it means that I have reached out to them a lot. But I always get the help I need from them in a timely manner. Last thing I want to mention is the reaon why the initial pannel placement was changed. We were just hanging out in the living room when the pannels just collapsed and all fell on the floor. Literally all of it. It was a hot day that day so my husband was thinking that maybe the adhesion wore off. He reinstalled it using a new 3m adhesives and its been okay so far. Overall great buy. I plan to buy more when its on sale to place on the other side of the TV.

Top-notch, must-have epic lights for anyone and everyone
Nanoleaf has the original modern gamer/ambience lights, and absolutely everyone who can, needs a set. This picture has the original 7-light starter pack (this product), plus 6 other 3-hex expansion packs for a total of 25 lights, so don't think you get that many with this one purchase! But know that once you start, it's hard to stop; this wall is almost filled, and I have 12 Nanoleaf lines in another room and another set of 7 hex lights at another house. The lights are bright, colorful, customizable, fairly easy to install, and interactive & epic. The app is great, but connectivity issues when starting up are hardly unheard of, as well. One note from someone that has way too many Nanoleaf lights for the good of their wallet, is that adding expansion packs is somewhat hard with the Hex lights due to having to pry up one end of the existing panel to slip the connector underneath and add on another panel, while expanding on Nanoleaf Lines is way simpler due to just taking the cap off the connectors and snapping on a new light bar! These lights change the whole look of a room, and are something everyone can admire (especially with the lights low and music going, letting the lights flow or pop with the pace of the song!). Get them if you can, because I know I won't be buying my last set anytime soon either!

Great product!
Super easy to setup! Can be controlled in the Nanoleaf app and has a bunch of modes to choose from, also is touch reactive which I thought is super cool, great gift for the holidays or to upgrade your room!

Borderline Unusable, Extremely Frustrating Setup
Got these for christmas and had the worst time pairing them. I tried on two separate networks, one that had 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz on one SSID and one that had them separated. Pairing via the iOS app didnt work on either network. The app would ask for the QR code, connect to the device, then HomeKit (apple device management) would take over to ask for the QR code (which would not scan), the pairing code, or the NFC chip. HomeKit (HK) would then try to connect for up to 2min at a time only to say it couldnt connect to the accessory or couldnt reach it on the network. This was extremely frustrating. I homelab as my hobby, so networking and configuration isnt alien to me. Nothing I tried would resolve my issue, either on my network end or the device end. Hard reset, soft reset, no power for 10min, leaving on for ages, nothing worked. Awful and frustrating experience to have on Christmas morning, and then again a few days later when I tried. I did manage to get them to work, however. I had to use a computer and the windows desktop app. Searching for the device worked instantly, pairing it went without a hitch, and they showed up on the wifi network immediately. Not a single problem when doing it through their desktop app. Something must be broken with their iOS and HomeKit integration, not sure what but it needs to be addressed. If I didnt think of the desktop app then these would have been returned immediately. Its frustrating because at its core it is a cool device (when it works). Getting it to work was immensely frustrating, so much so that I would recommend looking anywhere else. I would gladly get some cheap knockoff that just used a simple wifi portal to setup vs their iOS app and their half-baked HomeKit integration. One star for lighting up and working as intended (eventually), it lost the rest on the setup alone.

Better than I expected!
First off I want to say I'm a sucker for LED anything! Secondly, I've been seeing these NanoLeaf's on peoples PC setups on YouTube for a couple years now and always wanted some just didn't want to shell out what they're asking for them, especially since I wanted more than 1 pack! Well, even though I felt like they were already played out, I pulled the trigger and ordered a couple of these packs. Seeing them for the first time in person (not on YouTube) honestly they are better than expected! The quality, brightness, app, and overall ease of installation is by far the easiest I've ever had out of any LED project I've done. I've used many different kinds of LED strips and bulbs before from off brands to Phillips Hue and Lifx. The Nanoleaf's are easily the best! To install, I've learned my lesson and never use the provided adhesive on LED strips or etc. (Phillips, Lifx have terrible adhesives!) Instead I bought the heavy duty, velcro style, command strips and placed a small square on each corner of every Nano leaf and I was done in no time! These are very light weight and stay in place with a little adhesive. The only con I have about these is the Rhythm module makes a lot noise when the panels are all on with over 50% brightness. Its a real shame but from my experience with other LED products (Phillips Hue and Lifx) the more strips/lights you add, usually the more noise you get from the power adapter. In this case its the rhythm module. I decided to just remove it when not using the rhythm mode and problem solved, (for me anyway.) If you've been on the fence about these for a while (like I have) and have the extra cash, I'd say pick some up! You wont be dissapointed!

Excellent colors, nice as art, questionable quality control
tldr; Wonderful conversation piece. Pricey but reasonable for what you're getting, factoring in bill of materials, engineering, and substitutes (hint: a few years after launch and there still aren't any). This is just under 4 square feet of wall coverage for $250/300 ... which is quite reasonable when categorized as art, in the ballpark of a neon lamp or a high quality print of comparable size. Some room for improvement (coming, I'm sure!), and minor QC complaints, but generally satisfied. Longer version: Let's get this out of the way: these are expensive. But there's a review from two years ago about how they will "definitely get copied and made cheaper" ... here we are, two years later, and they haven't. After looking closely at these, it's clear why: they're well designed, well manufactured*, well packaged, and the app is excellent. Bill of materials might be <$10/item, but a 50% gross margin isn't unreasonable (and if you can pick them up for $250/15, it's a relative bargain!). A warning: be sure you realize how large these are: they're over ~8 inches tall and ~9.5 inches wide, or ~0.25 square feet a piece. 15 of them will cover a fairly significant area and put out plenty of light, but they only connect along the sides (rather than sides and vertices). This means the resulting art tends toward the abstract unless you're buying 25+ of them, and then you're committing to an entire wall that's > 4'x4'. Installation was fairly easy, though not something you'll want to do with any regularity (viz. ensure you're happy with the design you choose, changing it will be significantly more work than putting it up in the first place). Their guidance is to install on a piece-by-piece basis ... I made my first design face-down, taped together the back, then mounted it all at once. Mine both came with 3M strips, I suspect the OEM ran out and substituted something in a pinch to keep shipments moving (or, in the less-likely event it was a cost cutting measure, they reversed course). App is excellent with lots of defaults/presets and the ability to customize as much as you'd like. The ability to generate layouts in advance - even before buying them! - is much appreciated and worth doing if you're on the fence. Only one real complaint that shouldn't be an issue at this price point: there was significant variability in shades of the white plastic both within a single 15-pack box (arrives as one 9x and 6x boxes grouped together), and between boxes (I bought 2x15 packs). While not full on yellow/beige, several panels were noticeably off-white toward the yellow side, and this led to noticeable (albeit not severe) variability in color when on the white setting (though not with color). This suggests poor quality control/consistency at the resin mixing stage for injection molding, it would be hard for a line inspector to see the difference unless comparing two batches of panels side-by-side. Desired improvements: Greater uniformity of the white plastic color, as detailed above. Connectors at vertices/corners rather than just along the middle: this would allow significantly more customization on the design side, even with a low-ish number of pieces. Longer flexible connectors: they make flexible ones, but they're still relatively short and require direct attachments. Allowing for space in between panels would allow for more unique shapes (e.g. a smiley face). Magnetic mounting: there is an easy(-ish) DIY solution, but one should be available first-market (research suggests they explored it and opted not to). Right now, when you assemble these they are pretty much "one and done" - the ability to tweak these on a semi-regular basis would add significant value. (Details on my in-progress DIY solution below) Adjustability of the 'rhythm' sensitivity: some calibration is clearly happening based on audio volume levels, but it's not sensitive enough at low levels of music. Pie-in-the-sky dream: magnetic connectors that wouldn't require the current tabs between each unit. Coupled with magnetic mounting, this could be fun to play with on a regular basis, both for adults and children. --- DIY magnetic mounting: Laser cutting a 6'x4' sheet of steel and wall mounting, taping over the back-side of each vertex then glueing magnets to the taped area (this will allow removal of the magnets if needed at some point without damaging the panels). While the connectors still need to be inserted, it removes the need to replace the 3M adhesive strip each panel and allows for rotation of the entire assembly.

If you have the money, These Aurora Nanoleaf lights are bad ass!
This is such an amazing product. I have 2 installations on 2 different sides of my wall. One in a triangle shape and another a diamond shape. Ok there is no way around this but these bad boys are EXPENSIVE. If you have disposable income tho and can afford it, these aurora nano leaf light panels are truly fun and amazing. They add pop and color to any set up and really pick up the vibe in my room. Do you need these lights? probably not but if you're trying to create a vibe in a room this is a great way for sure. You can fully control the lights through the app on your phone or through alexa, google or apple homekit. I use homekit and I never have a problem with my lights. I use these lights in my home studio and they make my space so much more inspiring and helps to promote my creativity and mood which is everything to me. The rhythm feature is a lot of fun when you're listening to music. If you have the money these Aurora Nanoleaf light panels are bad ass

Beautiful vibrant colors, nice eye candy for the wall.
Pro's - Vibrant colors - Good sound to light representation, really nice when playing music - Simple easy installation - Ability to design how you want the panels to layout. - Easy to use app Con's - Cost - The connectors will slide out, which is fine once you have it mounted. Update 9/21/2018 - Package came in great condition; no issues from any of the 15 panels, power unit, or mic unit. Ran some initial function tests and everything is running great. Really like how the hub is able to recognize whatever design I have the panels arranged and adjust the themes accordingly. Vibrant colors cycle smooth and bright, also liking how well they respond when the mic unit is activated. There was more than enough 3M strips to properly get all of the panels in place on the wall and I feel pretty confident that they won't be coming off any time soon. I would suggest being aware of how you are placing the panels and in what order, I did it the wrong way and had to undo a few of them in order to get the final piece in place due to how tight the design was for the last few panels. I did eventually get the app from Google Play so I can further customize the color schemes and add a few more. The overall process in syncing the panels to the app was straight forward and I haven't had any issues so far in getting any themes to sync up from the phone to the lights. Since the power hub can support more than 30 panels I plan on getting more eventually and adding onto the design started with this set. Would recommend to anyone interested in adding a truly unique flare to their walls.
