KickPort 4" Bass Drum Sound Hole - Black KP1BL

An excellent product and far more durable than the expensive felt pad alternative. Very easy to fit and tuning the head still remains easy. Also strong enough to allow you to physically reach in to adjust dampening, but more importantly, if not using a mic stand, allows the lead to rest on the rim without affecting the tuning. You see far more of these used professionally these days, and for good reason. A very quick delivery, correctly packaged and excellent valure for money, I would highly recommend it to all drummers who want that deep deep resonence while giving superb access for the mic.

This doesn't work on smaller bass drums. I put it on my Sonor Jungle 16" bass drum, hoping it would give the small drum a bit more 'oomph' - but it didn't. What it did do is completely damp the overtones (and what little 'oomph' the drum inherently had) out of the drum itself. I dare say a larger drum would cope better with this. However, I have fitted it to my cajon and though it's done the same as it did to my 16" bass drum, it's created a very, very good recording or miked up sound. You win some, you lose some. Definitely over-priced.

These really work - tightens up the kick giving a more focused attack whilst the low end sounds huge !

I completely love the kickport and CajonPort. Ive had mine for a while now, it makes the drum sound so much rounder and bigger. Its also looks amazing and it protects your hole! Must Buy!

I like this accessory! It has a positive effect on enhancing the low end of the bass drum when it is miked in my humble opinion.
