Exceeded my hopes. Practical and empowering.
Having watched many of Dr. Mindy's YouTube videos and read many of the critical reviews, I have to say I am actually really impressed with the content of this book. She delivers good explorations of the causes and the very serious issues of menopausal symptoms, with helpful explanations and suggestions for how to address them and in which order to start building a personal and holistic recovery plan. It is written in a way which is very practical and encouraging too. It is of course disheartening to realise that there is no simple solution, but it is revolutionary considering this information was not even available only a few years ago. I can't imagine what my life would be like without this help and I am sure many other women's lives, and that of their loved ones, will benefit beyond just reducing troubling symptoms. Being given the tools to thrive into old age is an invaluable gift. Thank you Dr. Mindy.

The Menopause reset
Some of the ideas contained in this book are excellent. However I do not have the money for all the hormone tests etc advocated in this book. But will try IF and low carb diet at very least to shift some of the menopause weight gain. Additionally I will try out the ideas for slowing down for the rushing woman.

Very informative and helpful
I would recommend this book to all women 40 and above. It has so many useful pointers and guidance for negotiating the challenges of menopause. I wish I had read this book earlier in my own journey. However there are many things I can now introduce into my lifestyle.

Useful if learning about fasting and hormones
I am new to fasting and Dr. Mindy came highly recommended in this area especially for women over 40. The book has useful information about women's hormones and how these changes affect us as we approach perimenopause and menopause. She also talks about the importance of detoxing and things we should be looking out for.In chapter 8 she talks about microbiome which live in and on our bodies and recommends a Reset Microbiome protocol using certain products. I have looked up the cost of these items and in my opinion, the costs are prohibitive e.g Revitin toothpaste if you buy it from Amazon UK costs £24.25 and the probiotic supplement Ion Biome ranges in price from £33.99 (236ml) - £70.99 (946ml)! There are other recommendations in the book for certain therapies like Red light therapy etc to help women in their healing journey. It is possible the cost of these supplements are cheaper in the USA where the author is based.The moral of of the story is to do your own research and find what works best for you!

Life changing information
First heard Dr Pelz on a podcast, live better, live more. Then I read,, Fast Like a Girl, followed by this one. I’m so excited to really get into this. I’m now day 21 on my cycle and loading up on progesterone rich foods. There’s so much info in here. Take what you want. I’m really grateful to Dr Mindy for doing such life changing work for us. As for weight loss, throw away the calories counting. It’s all about knowing which foods spike your blood sugar, as well as adding fasting to your life.
