For a clock this expensive, it would be nice if Seiko included the ability to trim the oscillations of the quartz crystal. Certain models of CASIO G-SHOCK wristwatches offer this feature. Any cheap alarm clock plugged into the wall will be more accurate.So what purpose does this clock serve other than looking nice? 1) Power outages. 2) Checking the accuracy of your mechanical Seiko watch. Displaying the seconds allows one to adjust their watch more accurately. 2xAA batteries should last up to 1 year.Room for improvement: Add trim adjustment and better temperature regulation. Make this a tool worthy of the Seiko name.
