Midea Arctic King 10,000 BTU Slide Casement Room Air Conditioner

It's cools our living room and dining room, just installed it this afternoon seems to work great!

Works good but it is noisy and has very limited features compared to some of the better standard window ac’s. Unfortunately there aren’t many options out there for these very popular horizontally operated windows.

It began with the excellent packaging. Well protected yet easy to open. Fine attention to detail. For example the plug was wrapped in a high density molded foam block. Once unpacked, I was pleasantly surprised to find included a heavy-duty adjustable bracket that screws over the window jam for easy installation. These cost at least $30 on Amazon. It came free!! It made for the most secure a.c. installation I’ve ever done. But wait…. There’s more! It also comes with a Frame that fits onto the a.c. And it opens to fill the open window space. Never seen this before. It’s really quite ingenious! The unit itself is quiet and cold. By far the best blower I’ve ever had in an air conditioner. You can feel it’s powerful airflow blowing cold standing clear across the room (12’ away). I was Leary off buying an unknown brand. It was $120 less than the name brand casement a.c.’s at the big box stores. I am so happy with it, I had to write a review. I can’t even remember the last time I took the time to leave a review. But, I was so impressed that I felt compelled to highly recommend this Midea 10kbtu air conditioner.

Cools very well. Like the thermostat feature. Pricey, but then it is a casement window unit. Cools a LR-DR area with lofted ceilings in part of it. Effecient and effective.

Cooling was non-functional. We thought the unit was just inefficient at cooling, but, upon inspection by an HVAC service person, they found that the condensing unit was never functional to begin with. By the time we confirmed that the unit was non-functional, not just poor quality, they refused to honor the warranty despite the fact that the unit hadn’t been working since the day we got it.

Unfortunately, this ac was too large for my casement window. I had to return it without being able to use it. Excellent customer service with the seller.

It was easy to install and it works well to cool down the room. Nice and cold.

The bracket were incorrectly drilled or stamped so I had to drill new holes toline things up. The box was damaged but the case of the a/c was undamaged, and part of the bracket that the a/c sits on was missing. After using a drill and the bracket from the old fridgair I got it in.
