Gorilla (Pick & Fit Foam) Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol S4 / S4 MK2 or S5 DJ Controller Flight Case inc

So I bought this to keep my S2 in, it’s in there but omg, it’s big, I also have a s4 in a Traktor case, and that is smaller than this case, plenty of space though for leads etc and the foam inside is really easy to shape to fit whatever decks you want to store. Certainly got no worries of the decks getting damaged in there, which is what it’s designed for.

This is a lightweight case which does it's job well thanks to the foam inserts. However the lack of feet/pads on the rear of the case means it's prone to scuffing far more easily when using for unloading your controller/DJ equipment. Could be better.

I bought this case not expecting much, but it is fantastic for the money. It does exactly what you need it to. It's light (most flight cases I've tried weigh upwards of 8 kilos....... empty! I mistakenly bought one of those tailor made ones with the slide back shelf to replace this one, thinking it'd be more convenient, but it weighed 13kg before I put anything in it!I'll admit the more expensive flight cases are probably more robust, and will probably withstand more abuse, and for longer, but I doubt they'll offer any more protection to the items inside, which let's face it, is the more important thing. But if you don't actually THROW this case, I can't see why it can't last for years.The metal trim seems to retain it's shine even after living in the garage. The black sides are a plastic that is robust enough as long as it's not overly abused.The cubed foam is very easy to use and can be cut to size using just your finger. I was worried about this looking cheap and not lasting, but this has not been the case.My one criticism is that there are 2 layers of foam which means that if there was a divider made of say thin plywood, you would be able to put in 2 layers of equipment. So I got some thin plywood and made a divider. I got some spray glue and glued the top layer of foam (after I cut it out) to the divider and now I keep my mixing deck, headphones and external hard drive on the top layer, and various leads and microphones on the bottom layer.It would be great if I didn't have to make this myself. I have a couple of these cases and therefore have had to make a couple of dividers.Still though, I do love these cases and would highly recommend.

This case is ok but If you have ever used real flight cases you will instantly know that this case is not that sturdy and would not last very long with anything other than light, careful handling.The construction is thin ply that visibly bends when stressed (real flight cases dont flex). The hinges, locks and handle are not very sturdy and would not stand up to much abuse ( unlike a real flight case).I would not trust this case for anything other than light use.I bought it keep the dust off and store an old four track machine when not used. I cant imagine it would last very long if I used it for gigging though.
