Great buy, simple, yet strong.
I'm really hard on belts. Like I always look for really strong rivets and robust sure m stitching because invariably they all end up failing. I've gone through more belts than I can even count. The longest lasting belt I ever had was a nice leather Italian one my grandpa gave me, and even that poor thing eventually gave up the ghost. So I thought this might be a good option for me since the points of failure seem a lot harder to push the boundaries of.So far I've worn it for a day and it's fairly comfortable. It's got a low profile and doesn't hurt to bend over in, even for guys like me with some extra padding on the belly. It's infinitely variable in adjustment, so no fighting for the right hole, and no breaking it at the buckle hole either. And as long as it goes around you it will grow (or shrink!) with your waste size, which is nice.Overall I'm very impressed, it's solid, incredibly simple design, and made out of robust materials which should be able to take a beating. We'll see if I've finally met my match in a belt I can't break, and hopefully this thing will last me a decade or more. Also kudos for the packaging it came in. Very minimalistic, just like the belt, it's basically just a simple cardboard box, and no extra paper or anything needed, it has the instructions on the box. So not much waste or over packaging, which is very refreshing! And made in the USA printed on the side.

Great product
This is my 2nd Grip6 belt. I bought my other one in 2021 and wear it almost every day. These belts hold up very well. The old one is still almost perfect and the only reason I bought this new belt is because I was on vacation and forgot my old one at home. The new one seems just as durable. Probably the best belt I have ever owned. I highly recommend this company. Why did you pick this product vs others?:Past experience and durability

High quality, nice idea, not for me.
I bought this belt primarily because I wanted a nice, reliable, high-quality piece of kit that was made in the USA. I try to buy as much stuff that's made in the USA as possible and I'll even pay a premium to do it. I broke a made-in-China ratchet belt a few weeks ago and sought to find a replacement. I really liked the idea of the Grip6 belt. It's definitely high quality and has good design and craftsmanship. It's presented simply and is well thought-out. It looks understated and is crazy lightweight. But I didn't keep it and returned it because it's... fussy. I literally wore it for 10 minutes and tried to acquaint myself with the unorthodox clasp/clamp/friction mechanism before I realized that I didn't want to "learn" how to wear a belt. Don't get me wrong here; it's a great idea and for a ton of people it's probably awesome, but I did not find it easier, faster, or more convenient than a ratcheting belt. When I undo my belt I want it to come off quickly and cinch down as fast. I didn't want to have to re-train my brain to do a belt a different way, so it just isn't for me. I'm not a jerk and I'm not going to give a single star because I didn't like the ONE THING this belt is TOTALLY DESIGNED TO DO. It gets 4 stars from me because it's a great piece of kit, but it's not the right thing for me. Sorry Grip6. Make a ratcheting belt in USA and I'll buy it.

GRIP6 Web Belt
I've had this belt for about two months and have been using it as my main belt. This is the first time I've tried something other than a traditional leather belt with spaced holes. I also usually spend $10-15 on belts, so $35 for the GRIP6 was a little on the high end for me. Usually the (cheap) leather on my belts wear out around the hole that gets used. And, once they're on waist, the excess strap sometimes ends up being an awkward length and hanging off.The GRIP6 is appealing for several reasons. I haven't had any issues with it slipping once it's on. Any excess strap gets tucked behind the belt for a nice clean look. It can also be adjusted by arbitrary amounts, without needing to jump from hole to hole, to get a perfect fit. This is nice if your pants vary a bit in waist size, or sit at different parts of your waist. I got the gunmetal buckle with black strap. It looks very sharp while not drawing attention to itself. Gunmetal/black and other darker colors might be able to be dressed up a bit for more formal settings. The buckle and strap seem very sturdy so far, with nothing obviously having worn down. The strap has a nice seat belt feel to it. I like that the two pieces can be replaced separately, or mixed and matched with other colors. I also considered some other brands of rachet-style belts, but they seemed to have more moving pieces that could potentially break. On the other hand, the GRIP6 avoids much of this. The piece that seems most susceptible to wear and tear is the stopper fastened to the end of the strap, but it is holding up fine for me.The main downside so far is that it takes more dexterity to fasten the belt than a traditional leather one. I find GRIP6 adjustment to be a two hand operation. Other than that, I am happy with this purchase.**Edit: 7/5/2025**After four years, the same GRIP6 belt is still going strong as my daily driver. I wear it in all situations where a belt will not be visible, which for me is most days. I never attempted to dress it up like I was thinking in my original review; instead, I capitulated and bought a few quality leather belts in black and brown for tuck-in situations. Leather belts just inexplicably pair with leather shoes. (Check out North Star Leather - they use thick slabs of SB Foot leather and are reasonably priced). I purchased a second GRIP6 as a gift for a family member and he actually uses it - this has never been the case with any other gift ever. I just noticed that the price on the GRIP6 belts has increased quite a bit over the past few years. Even if it's a little costly for a simple nylon strap and aluminum buckle, I think I'd still rather get one of these than two or three "genuine" leather belts that will last 1-2 years each.
