One of the best on this system.
I didn't think they could get the game to look as beautiful as it did on the GameCube, fully tapping into the system's potential.. but they did, and we're all better for it. This is definitely a must-have for anyone who wants the Nintendo switch

Fantastic conversion to the Switch
This is such a great port of Metroid Prime to the Switch! The developers did a superb job.Controls: It has a few control schemes but none of them have the same feel as the Gamecube controller, and you can't freely assign buttons. You have to pick from some pre-defined templates. I use the Pro controller and I'd say it's like 8/10ths as good of a feeling as it was on the GC controller back in the day.I have heard that you can use an original GC controller through the Smash Bros. GC to Switch adapter, but while it works there's some button (map button?) you can't access. While hardly anyone will use this, I do wish the developers supported it.Visuals: All the textures and models have been remade for the game and they look fantastic. It's not like other cheap HD ports where they only updated parts of the game inconsistently. The game runs at 1080P at 60 FPS all the time. There are a few visual effects which don't look right, such as lava sticking to your visor when you jump out of a pool of lava. I don't know if it's an oversight but you do wonder how QA didn't catch this. But I want to stress that like 99% of the game looks perfect, and it really is these minor edge cases where you sometimes see a little weirdness.Sound: No changes to the audio or sound effects, they're just as good as you remember it.Difficulty: There's a new casual game mode which so far feels a lot easier. While I loved the difficulty of the original game I felt it really spiked at the very end so it's been nice to have an easier ride through this time. Of course you can pick the normal difficulty mode too if you want that classic challenge.Overall: I bought the physical copy and am very happy with it. Amazon did a good job restocking this game after the initial wave of orders. I like that Nintendo made this game cheaper than most others because it is a port, and I really hope they release Metroid Prime 2 next because I'll be first in line to buy it.
