Looks good, we'll see...
I unboxed the Trio BF-80 today, it's definitely an impressive looking reel. When I first tried to crank the reel it had a weird rattle and then locked up on me. Instantly I was thinking I would be sending it back. I took off the spool and re-seated it My guess is something just wasn't aligned correctly when they put it together at the factory. I've been reeling it off and on all morning now and it has been smooth. The baitrunner feature also appears to be working great, it's very smooth. I'll be giving it a workout at the coast all next week so I'll know for sure if it's working correctly. I will say that the Shimano Baitrunner 8000OC I have seems to be an overall better quality reel than this Okuma. The Shimano is just smooth as can be and this Okuma is just okay. Kind of weird considering this is a 10 bearing reel and the Shimano I believe is 4. The Okuma isn't even all that much cheaper than the Shimano. If this reel doesn't work out I'll add a another Shimano Baitrunner to my collection. I will edit this review next weekend after I have put the reel into action.06-30-16 update:Used the reel a few times at Surfside Jetty this week, didn't get into any large fish to test the drag. Everything seems to be working well on it. I don't like it as much as the Shimano but I'm probably just being picky. They should make the click in baitrunner mode louder, it's not easy to hear. I will say that I absolutely hate the foam crank handle. It makes the whole handle feel weak and wobbly when you're reeling. They need to switch that to a hard handle that has a more positive feel. Hopefully next week I can hook into something large and put the drag to the test.

Light and strong
Without a doubt the best spinning reel that I have purchased. Lightweight, strong, the handle is extremely comfortable. I fish grouper, tilefish, halibut and torpedo sand perch with this reel. The only comment I have is that the alarm sound is very low in comparison with other reels I've ever had. Next year I want it in the season of wahoo, since I put 350 + yards of braided PowerPro 65 pounds, enough to battle it out with these fish. Highly recommended.UpdateIt has been 8 months since the purchase and the red pin of the handle slipped and fell into the water. I sent two emails to the customer's service of Okuma, but I don't have any answer. Bad service technical Okuma, and seems quite bad to a reel that has that price to have such problems. One star to Okuma's service.

One fine piece of gear..
This is one Awesome Reel.. I gave both my Boys one for Christmas. They were a Hit.. My sons stopped opening other packages just to check them out. We ended up passing them around to everyone at the party. Here is why they are so great. Top quality appearance, power handle is Beefy and the handle is a large ball which fits well in everyone's hands. The drag is Super smooth and the action is precision the infinite stop is perfict. As you crank the handle it stops exactly at that point with absolutely no slip. I would fish bass all the way up to Albicore, Bluefin and Yellowfin tuna up to 50 lbs. my sons want to go for Yellowtail and I know this reel will handle it no problem...

Very smooth.
This thing is very very smooth and feels very sturdy. I loved my $50 okuma baitfeeder, this one is so much better. We'll see how durable these are. I bought another Okuma Ceymar too, but this one is much better. Its feels more sturdy and the spin is smoother.

Okuma Trio BF-80, bought through Amazon Warehouse Deals. So far I have found nothing wrong other then a small tear in the box.Have not had a chance to fish with yet, hence 4 stars. It will hold 300 yds. of Power PRO Braid 50 lb. test @ .36mm diameter.Waiting for free time to hook into a big flathead & see how it performs.

Smooth reel!
Great bait runner feature. Use for calico bass and yellowtail fishing in California (Catalina). Toss out a Mac earl or sardine towards kelp and let the bait run with the bail closed. Hook up, set hook by turning the handle (circle hooks). Holding up well to lots of hook ups! Have a 35 for smaller calico bass and a bf-65 also for bigger yellowtail and small school size tuna. Really like the smooth action of these reels and Okuma products in general.

Terrible main/baitfeeder drag systems.
Out of the box: Jerky main drag, jerky baitfeeder drag and horrible clicker. Bought two of them and fished them lightly for a month and already nothing works as it should. I was trying to save some money buying these but I guess I should've bought a Shimano baitrunner instead. I have two BTR6000 D and they have never let me down for over 3 years.

For reel under 100, its well worth its price ...
For reel under 100 ,its well worth its price , smooth retrieve and quiet bait running click , fighting drag is strong as well as smooth with very little start up tension. Taking on the water today to try out.

Like the smoothness.
Bought a Okuma Coronado 55 and returned it 2 days later due to not being a smooth reel. Bought this next day and am happy with the smoothness. Added 15lbs Powerpro Slick 8.
