Genoa Cast Aluminium Outdoor IP23 Hanging Wall Lantern Light, 1642

This is better than expected - which is nice. It's cast metal. Weighty and solid. I fitted a very large filament LED and it looks great (https://amzn.eu/d/cXliHfn). No point in having an outside light unless it's properly bright! Note that for LEDs which generate so little heat, the wattage rating is irrelevant! Note no motion sensor - bonus for me - a separate sensor allows for better situation tuning. Backplate screws to wall - use your own screws, the supplied ones are no good. Care point, there are two little O rings which fell out when I opened it. I can only guess that these are to retain the screws in the backplate that protrude through the casing when you install the lamp - that's how I used them and it did the job. Without these it might be a fiddle getting the lamp aligned with these screws and holding them while fitting the nuts.

Nice product albeit the bottom part of the lamp is open to the elements which was not clear from the description. But, good value for money.

I have to say, having read the other review about fitting being a nightmare, I was nearly put off buying these lamps. I bought two however, one for either side of our porch. I don't know if they have changed the design but I found them very easy to put up indeed. It took just over half and hour to put them both up. Wiring was very easy indeed. They are a nice quality item, metal rather than plastic (unlike the plastic lamps they replaced). Being aluminium they will not rust. The individual glass panes are held in securely with small screw down clips so no chance of them accidentally falling out - a nice touch. The lights are not enclosed, being open at the bottom, so changing bulbs means just that - no dismantling the shade each time one needs replaced. The bulbs are nice and high up in the shade though, so out of harms way (and the weather's).

It is an outside wall lantern and it looks fabulous, I would recommend it highly.
