Beautiful Case With a Classic Wood Design and Great Functionality
I used this case for my custom PC build and I absolutely love it. What originally drew me to it was the design. The wood front immediately reminded me of my dad’s old stereo cabinet, and that warm brown wood detail gives the case a very clean and classic look that stands out from typical gaming cases. Beyond the looks, the build experience was excellent. I was able to fit an AIO cooler and a full sized graphics card with no issues at all. There was plenty of room to work in, and everything felt well thought out during installation. The case also has a lot of great features that make building and maintaining a system easier. Airflow is solid, cable management is straightforward, and the overall construction feels sturdy and high quality. It manages to look stylish without sacrificing performance or practicality. If you want a case that combines modern PC functionality with a timeless design, this one is an excellent choice. It looks great in a room and performs just as well as it looks.

A great looking case that also cools well.
I've been a Fractal Design fan for many years. This one caught my eye when it was released. I like the wood slats on the front. They make it look more luxurious. It has typical Fractal build quality. That is to say it is excellent. Building the system is easy. Components fit exactly as they should. Fractal's approach for air filters works well. They are easy to clean. I generally just run water over them in the sink and then dry them off. The whole system is reasonably quiet. Cable routing works well. I've never been great at making the cables look professional but with this, it still looks good. There are convenient Velcro strips to help. I do have three suggestions: - There should be a DIN plug for connecting all the front panel connections. - I miss having an LED to indicate drive activity. - They should make more of this model with a solid side panel. I would prefer that over the glass side panel. I don't really need to see inside the machine but would prefer the increased sound isolation an insulated, solid panel could provide.

Absolutely Beautiful!!!
I wanted a smaller case than my previous build and I wanted something with a little bit of class in case it ends up being visible in the next house. I also wanted buttons and ports on the top of the case for floor installation. The walnut panels on the front are absolutely gorgeous. Very classy. Even my wife likes the looks. The tempered glass side and other side comes off nicely, as well as some of the other pieces. But I did have to change out the thumb screws for larger aluminum screws as the Fractal ones were far too difficult to remove. Now my access is extremely easy. HD mounting is not the easiest. Fractal got rather creative in finding places to put the SSD and 3.5" hard drives. I've historically had many drives in my computers. But I went with a motherboard that has several NVME slots to reduce the 2.5" and 3.5" drive count for me. Most people will be fine with it. But I don't look forward to moving my 3.5" drive from my old machine once I fully transition to this machine. Cable routing inside most of the case is pretty easy. The cable routing underneath from the PSU, though, is tough to manage if you need to configure your cabling after initial build. I did and I bought a fully modular PSU. The cables are nicely hidden once you're all done, but it was a bear to pull it off the 2nd time w/o reterminating everything. Overall, it is a lovely machine. It's a little harder to work inside because of it's size, but that was the compromise I was choosing with eyes wide open. I'm very happy with this case.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This Case Made My First PC Build Feel Like a Premium Showcase
I honestly couldn’t have picked a better case for my first PC build. The Fractal North is technically a mid-tower, but once you start building in it, it feels incredibly spacious. There’s plenty of room for a full-size GPU, large air cooler, and clean airflow paths without ever feeling cramped or awkward. Everything fits exactly how you want it to. The design is what initially sold me—and it looks even better in person. The modern, minimalist aesthetic paired with the real wood slat front panel is stunning. It’s understated, mature, and premium without screaming “gaming PC.” This is a case you’re proud to display, not hide under a desk. Cable management is excellent. The layout, tie-down points, and space behind the motherboard tray make it easy to get a clean, professional look—even for a first-time builder. You can see from my build how well everything routes and disappears. On top of that, it’s incredibly easy to maintain: dust filters are accessible, panels come off smoothly, and cleaning doesn’t feel like a chore. Airflow has been fantastic. I’m running a full-size GPU and a large dual-fan air cooler, and temps stay consistently solid. I liked the case so much that I even designed and 3D-printed a custom bottom piece to improve GPU airflow while hiding cables—and the case handled that customization beautifully. It invites creativity. I’ve owned this case since August 2025, and it’s been rock solid long-term. No rattles, no flex, no regrets. This was my first PC build, but it absolutely won’t be my last—and I can confidently say it won’t be the last time I choose Fractal for a case. If you care about design, airflow, build quality, and actually enjoying the build process, this case is an easy recommendation. Fractal nailed it. 🔥

Beauty meets brains, with just enough brawn
I have built in many cases and the North still feels special. The genuine walnut slats on the front, the dark tinted tempered glass, and the brushed accents give it a furniture grade vibe that actually looks at home in a living room or studio. Airflow is strong for a design first chassis, cable management is painless, and the build quality is exactly what you expect from Fractal. It is solid, thoughtful, and quiet. I did squeeze an ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090 in here. It fits but it is right at the envelope. If you are running a 360 mm front radiator or an especially long or thick 5090, expect careful measuring and some compromises. The fact that it can be done in a compact mid tower with real wood aesthetics is impressive. What I loved - Stunning design that does not scream gamer. Real walnut front, dark tinted glass, clean lines - Excellent airflow for the size. Open front plus fine mesh, two 140 mm Aspect PWM fans included - Easy build experience. Removable panels, smart cable routing, captive screws where it matters - Modern I O. Front USB C Gen 2x2 alongside dual USB A and audio - Versatile cooling. Up to 360 mm front radiator, 240 mm top with RAM clearance to check, 120 mm rear - Respectable GPU support for a mid tower. Up to 355 mm with front fans with careful planning for big 4000 and 5000 series cards - Quiet out of the box. Sensible fan tuning and airflow path keep noise restrained What could be better - Tight for ultra flagship GPUs. 5090 class cards fit but it is a squeeze. Front AIOs reduce clearance further - Limited PSU and HDD space combo. Long PSUs with dual HDD trays can get cramped - Top radiator RAM clearance. Tall RAM and thick top radiators can clash. Measure before you commit - No fan hub in the TG version. The Mesh variant typically fares better here. Plan motherboard headers accordingly - Glass version has fewer total fan mounts than the Mesh. If maximum airflow is your priority then consider the Mesh side panel Build notes and tips if you are pushing big GPUs - Measure twice and mount once. The case supports GPUs up to around 355 mm with front fans installed. If you add a 360 mm front radiator the effective GPU length drops noticeably. Look up your specific GPU length and cooler thickness before buying - Consider air cooling or a top mounted 240 mm AIO if you are using a very long GPU. This preserves front clearance - Keep PSU length modest if you need both HDD trays installed. Shorter PSUs make cabling and airflow easier - Use low profile or standard height RAM if you plan a top radiator to avoid clearance headaches Verdict The North Charcoal Black TG Dark blends premium and timeless design with competent thermals and a smooth build experience. If you want a PC that looks as good as it runs and you are willing to plan your component sizes it is fantastic. For maximal airflow or the absolute largest GPUs without compromises the Mesh version or the larger North XL are worth a look. As a tasteful and compact mid tower that can still handle a powerful build the North is a winner.

Excellent case. Could use better fans.
I am very happy with my Fractal North case. It looks great, has excellent ventilation, and a lot of provisions for fans. The case is on the small side for ATX boards, which was a positive for me, but if you want more build room I recommend the Fractal North XL instead. I bought the mesh side panel as opposed to the tempered glass version. The mesh panel version comes with provisions for side mount fans which really helps with GPU cooling. That being said, the side fan bracket barely cleared my CPU cooler so the usefulness of the side fans will depend on the size of your GPU and CPU cooler. It is a tight case. Cable management is generally good but the drive bays are basically useless. The power cables occupy the same space as one of the drives. That is not a problem for me since I only have a board mounted nvme but if you use a HDD for extra storage it could be an issue. It comes with two front mounted 140mm fans. These fans are okay, but they're nothing special. They are reasonably quiet and descent build quality but they are by no means high end / premium. If you want additional fans I would recommend a good third party brand as opposed to more of what the case comes with. I learned this the hard way. The case can fit two 140mm fans in the top of the case, however, one of the fans will interfere with your mobo's 8-pin power connector. You can fit both fans but you have to put a fair amount of stress on your power cables to do it.

Sophisticated Design and High Quality Product!
Fantastic case. It looks sophisticated and is made of high quality parts. Truly impressed and worth the price. You can feel the quality touches throughout and when building or working on the interior, there is plenty of space for additions as well as little quality of life additions to the tooling such as pull out slots to add memory! Very happy with the purchase. Has worked flawlessly now for several months and should last years into the future.
