My favorite energy drink by far
I love these drinks. They’ve provide the perfect amount of energy, focus, and motivation without feeling jittery. I hope that mess it up with the reformulation. The only negative feedback I read was on taste. I thought they tasted good. Too many people are focused on taste. I how they don’t add artificial sweeteners because they will lose customers including me.

Great energy, no headaches!
I'm someone whose caffeine sensitivity had gotten so bad that I literally couldn't have a piece of chocolate without having raging headaches for the next day or two afterwards. I'd had to cut out caffeine entirely, and really missed it, as I work long hours in a job that requires me to be perky and alert with customers. So, I found this, and I tried it. Soooo happy I did. Been drinking it for over a month now, zero headaches at all. The energy is smooth, but powerful (if you drink an entire can in one go, it's like 4 small coffees). It does keep me up a bit at night if I've had a lot, but it's more of an "I'm not tired yet so I don't *want* to sleep" thing, rather than an "I *can't* sleep" thing. One can is about ~400 mg caffeine equivalent. It's definitely made to be an energy drink. Personally, I'll often split a single can into 4 "doses", and some days only take one or two if it's a shorter work day or I'm off work. So the price seems a lot more reasonable when you realize you're getting like 48 small coffees from a 12-pack. Last thing, the taste. It's really not great, sadly. I can't stand the taste of artificial sugar and monkfruit has that same taste as well for me. And paraxanthine has a bit of natural bitterness, so the lime and blueberry flavors are *really* bad. I don't mind the peach and mandarin though. They're even growing on me a bit. I do wish they'd make some with cane sugar or something though.

Will not be repurchasing
I will not be not be repurchasing for two reasons: 1) It is absurdly sweet. The first sip was a shock to the system, like drinking barely diluted syrup. I ended up diluting it with water - first half this product/half water, then one third this product/two thirds water, and it was still too sweet. If you are used to chugging Coca-Cola by the liter maybe you'll be able to tolerate it. As a normie with normal taste buds, I just can't. 2) One of the ingredients on the can is "natural flavors". I went on the manufacturer's website to see if there was more information on this but it didn't list "natural flavors" at all, even on the "Full Ingredient List". It makes me wonder if they are hiding something nasty in there. The FDA defines natural flavors as "flavoring constituents derived from a spice, fruit or fruit juice, vegetable or vegetable juice, edible yeast, herb, bark, bud, root, leaf, or similar plant material, meat, seafood, poultry, eggs, dairy products, or fermentation products thereof" but it also permits solvents or carriers to be included without a separate line on the ingredients list, so "natural flavors" could be anything. If it were peach extract or essential oil to create the peach flavor then why not say so directly? Makes me very suspect that it's something undesirable.

Decent Drink & Great Customer Service
When I originally ordered these I received a pack that had some sort of corrosion or mold on top of 2 of the cans. Contacted the company through their IG page and they apologized and immediately sent out a replacement. While waiting for the replacements I threw away the bad cans and tried all four flavors of the original order. I was not a fan at all. Each had an initial bad taste and then it seems to hit you a second time with a different bad taste. I’m guessing that they must have been version 1. The replacements I received however all tasted fine. The taste isn’t sweet like ZOA with sucralose or anything but the flavors were pretty good and mild. Slightly more flavorful than a flavored seltzer. Didn’t have a bad aftertaste. I did notice that my energy levels were more sustained throughout the rest of my work day and I had good focus for work. It’s not an all day energy but got me through my work day without issues. With the amount of Paraxanthine in this drink though I would not recommend drinking any other drink that has caffeine in it the rest of the day though. I’m guessing the replacements they sent were their version 2 which I would buy again. It won’t be a constant purchase due to cost but a case here and there every so often I can handle. Hopefully at some point I can see these in Costco to get a bulk discount.

Updated Review: Great Way to Quit Caffiene
Hello everyone, I quit caffeine a few months back, then I stupidly went back. It was pure choice of wanting to try the Ghost Energy Cherry Limeade, which is damn good I must say. That brought my body back into the cycle of caffeine. I was trailing down my caffeine intake and figured it was worth a shot to switch over to a case of Update to see if that helps me quit. I realize there is a chance I then have a dependency on Update, but I’m running a little lab here. July 4th was the first day (3rd can of Update) that I consumed no caffeine. The day went totally fine, no caffeine withdrawal at all. I did only get four hours of sleep, and it is a holiday, so I am drinking a second update just to keep alert to drive. So far, I can say the berry Update has a light, pleasant taste. It doesn’t smash you in the mouth with flavor like some companies do, but I prefer this more light, refreshing blend. The actual enhancements you get off Update are quite accurate so far from the description. I do not get overly energetic, sometimes antsy, or amped up as I would with a Kickstart, Ghost Energy, Redbull, etc. I would describe it as a *clean energy*. That’s what it feels like. A nootropic just boosting your mental alertness. (*new paragraph of review here, apologies for not updating for weeks*) I experienced no withdrawal or comedown of weird feelings. Update allowed me to quit caffeine by drinking it (with the paraxanthine) long enough to help my system. Mileage may vary depending on each of our unique systems, I would totally recommend anyone to try these. They are more expensive, but if you feel your body doesn’t react well to caffeine like mine (example: I didn’t start grinding my teeth at night during sleep until I started to be a regular caffeine consumer), it’s worth the cost to see if you like them. My plan now is to buy a case and have it in the fridge on days I really need a pick me up. So many of us start drinking energy drinks every other day, daily, or even more frequently. It’s not healthy, this is a better alternative unless proven scientifically otherwise.

Was an interesting alternative to cigarettes
New Review of new product formulation (After February 2024): 1. The taste. Sweeter than previous product. Given sample tastes of both product formulations to 2 people. One person preferred the old, the other the new. Person that prefer the new said that the old formulation tasted like medicine, person that prefers the old said that the new formulation smells like feet. This second person had to rinse their mouth out with water after giving them the new formulation I got to say I agree that it does indeed not smell too good, but the taste does not match the smell. The taste is ok, but I am disappointed to see that they got rid of their "over-engineered" sweetening system of the previous product formulation. It feels like they used a cheaper sweetening system and trying to make it sweeter to cater to a larger group of people instead of the niche users that probably do drink this. 2. The effect. They removed several ingredients from this new product formulation: NALT, Taurine, and 5htp. I mean really...taurine, come on this is like staple in every energy drink. Overall you can tell the effect is different (a bit worse) so now have to add back the stuff they took out. Obviously adding powders to carbonated beverages is not preferable. 3. The cost. They obviously did cost-saving initiatives in this new product formulation while not passing on the savings to the consumer. I will keep buying it (subscribed) because it is pre-dissolved paraxanthine using sweeteners that are not that bad (not that good either). If they have the gall to jack up the price while taking more things out to make it cheaper, maybe I switch to making my own energy drink. 4. Conclusion: I expected them to reformulate because every time a company comes out with a product they tend to ruin it after X amount of time. I am glad they didn't reformulate it sooner. That being said, this new reformulation is not that bad, just miss the old one.... Old review of old product formulation (Pre February 2024): 1. The taste. After first receiving the product, the taste, I thought was bitter... but I try to be flexible and not too picky when trying new things, so I just kept drinking it. It can be described like this: you can taste both the sweetness and the bitterness, like peach tea w/ super small amount of honey. Others may say its a little too sweet, in fact, at times I thought it was too sweet and was kinda put off of that. This was in the beginning, but then the "taste buds" adapted. See the sweetener they use is a mixture of allulose and stevia. If you read the literature you will see that this specific combination is designed to lessen how sweet you perceive a flavor over time. So in the beginning if you think its too sweet, if you keep drinking it, you will find that this effect fades away and the sweetness becomes "balanced" to your taste buds. Note that this effect only works if you stick to only one flavor, I changed flavors around and noticed that the sweetness re-intensifies after changing the flavor. So if you are in the other camp where you think its not sweet enough, then ordering the variety pack is probably the better option. 2. The effect. I feel that the effect also helps to reinforce how you perceive the taste. Its like how people don't like non-alcoholic beer because the effect of the alcohol helps to reinforce the overall beer experience. If you don't like "the effect" you experience from paraxanthine + other compounds they put in this drink, you will probably be more turned off by it. This will especially be true if you are accustomed to caffeine. If you drink coffee everyday or other caffeinated beverages, than this drink will probably not be for you. In order to "feel" the paraxanthine you need to have taken a break from caffeine completely for probably at least 2 weeks. After that, you will notice the effects of this energy drink. I will say in the beginning all you need is probably 1/3 of the can, and that will increase depending on how much you feel like you need. 1 can is like 2 cups of coffee. As for the effect itself, you will see that drinking it has the same effect as 4 hours after drinking a cup of coffee for the first time after abstaining for about a month. Its nice. If you are a habitual coffee drinker and switch to this immediately with no pause, you will either not really feel it (it will feel weak) or it will feel like a caffeine crash. So again, I recommend taking a break from caffeinated beverages before drinking this. 3. The cost. 2 cans a day (~4 cups of coffee) $6. Times 30 days. ~$180. Comparable to a pack a day of cigarettes, but this is obviously way healthier and more convenient than having to smoke. People have the wrong idea that "energy drinks" are solely for energy, its more of just something to help get you through the day, kinda like cigarettes 4. Conclusion: All in all there's no other product like this in the market so its hard to compare. I say it gets 5/5 stars for innovation and trying something new. I can tell they put in a lot of effort to make a quality product by the sweeteners they use (allulose + specific Reb combinations) and the inclusion of certain amino acids. Only gripe: It would be nice to know how much 5-htp is included per can because that can have some serious interactions with certain medications (SSRIs/DXM). This is not necessarily a bad ingredient to include and when added in a "microdose" amount as it probably is here, it probably definitely has some nuanced effect that contributes to the overall experience.

Despite Label The New Recipie Likely Contains Grapefruit Based on Taste
Loved the original flavor with the original can. Paraxanthine seems to work really well on me. Two stars for the newest order I received because THEY CHANGED THE RECIPIE! Now this tastes like the most vile indescribable thing I can image. It has a very strong grapefruit flavor, which is very concerning to me because I have to be avoiding grapefruit so it doesn't intervere with medications. So if they're secretely putting grapefruit in this and not reflecting that on the label, then I've literially put my health at risk by trusting this company. The original recipie was good. Tasted a little bit like a medicine flavor, but I like that actually, and it doesn't alarm me that there might be secrect grapefruit involved.
