Pumpkin light delivers! Solid μmol ratings at 18"-24", good thermal efficiency, great reflective coverage
I recently purchased these lights due to other Amazon customers asking me if I have (or if I could) test then review the lights. While I have not had enough time to perform a growing experiment with them, I have finished testing some technical aspects of the light. So far.. I think this light is pretty great.The first thing you obviously notice is...they are large pumpkin looking orange lights. No, they are not made specifically to grow pumpkins, you could try but that would require quite the skill and patience. I've been reviewing a lot of lights, so when I unboxed them I chuckled at first. Using them in the lab during testing, I've come to really like the design.The orange part of the light is made out of plastic with small vent holes around the base of the LEDs and another ring of vent holes near the (standard E6) bulb fitting. When I plugged the light in I was surprised (but pleased) to hear a fan starting. Judging by the size of the housing I'm guessing it has a 40mm fan inside it. I did not measure the decibels of the fan but it is not loud nor annoying, a slight hum. The fan serves a good purpose, keeping the multi-spectrum LEDs cool and it does a good job, the light after 4 hours of running was still luke-warm at any given point on the light, not warranting a heat measurement test. Similar to the Taotronic lights that I highly praised, these lights also run extremely efficiently and have negligible environment heat impact (it doesn't heat up your greenhouse/grow tent/room). The LEDs on this light are surrounded by a highly reflective chrome-plated surface which really assists in reflecting the light to one of the widest diameters I've seen from any bulb style grow light, reaching 6ft wide at only 3ft height. To be clear though, that 6ft diameter circle would not be entirely usable light to grow in.I've been running numerous science experiments for the last few years. Subsequently I have purchased almost every single "LED Grow Light" on Amazon, specifically in the 600w-3000w range, 300-600w range, all the 36w, 48w, and 60w "LED grow light bulbs".. I use an Apogee Quantum Par meter (sq-520) (Love it) and a Hydrofarm Quantum Par Meter (which I think is terrible). The plants in the experiments have been: Basil, Strawberries, Peppers, Mints (various strains), Dill, Variants of Lettuce, Lavender, tissue culture of California Redwoods, Medicinal herbs (Indica and Sativa strain), tissue culture of peas, squash, pumpkin, celery. Nutrient delivery is computer controlled (GrowLink Environment Monitor, Growlink Nutrient Doser, Autogrow Intellidose systems with peristaltic pumps, separate Arduino monitoring system, and an Apollo environment monitor. I am triple/quadruple tracking most environmental variables for redundancy and data logging and because all sensors go bonkers at one time or another.Over the last few years I ran experiments in DWC hydroponics STERILE/CULTURED, DWC "Bennie", Aeroponics, Ebb and flow, ebb and drain, Kratky method, and full aquaponic systems.I measured the light in a 6x6 area with no reflective surfaces. If you were to use a reflective surface you would achieve a higher umol rating due to light reflection. With an Apogee sq 520, my measured results came out to:At 12" from the LED: 915 μmol (center point of the LED)At 18" from the LED: 390-400 μmol (center point of the LED)At 36" from the LED: 90-100 μmol (center point of the LED)At 5ft they deliver only 30 μmol (center point of the LED)I use the μmol rating not lumen rating. Humans use Lumens. Don't measure a lights effectiveness by it's luminosity. For example: The FEIT 300watt LED $40 bulb is extremely bright and can light up a .25 acre backyard, it's marketed as "stadium lighting replacements" however it puts off a miserable 100-300µmol within 2" of the bulb and leans too heavy on the blue/white spectrum side. Plants need specific spectrums to grow properly and thrive. Some lights simply don't work well at all at replacing a grow light.Plants use PAR, PAR stands for photo-synthetically active radiation (PAR). PAR is NOT a measurement or “metric” like feet, inches or kilos. Rather, it defines the type of light needed to support photosynthesis.Micromoles (µmol ) – Intensity of a light is measured over a fixed area to understand the ability of a light to cover an area with that intensity (coverage). Micromoles of photons per square meter per second (µmol/m2/s) measures the intensity by taking measurements in a consistent 4 x 4 grid, measures the coverage of that intensity–commonly known as PPFD per 4 x 4 grid. Rather than measuring light intensity by lumens per watt with a lux meter, professional growers use quantum PAR meters to measure the micromoles of photons per square meter per second (µmol/m2/s) at the plant canopy level. To best calculate PAR light intensity coverage using PAR mapping 4 x 4 grids, be sure and measure at various heights. Spot readings (PPF) metrics are misleading. Growers use PPFD per square meter to accurately measure intensity and coverage of that intensity. In a simple analogy....it defines "how much light is being eaten by the plant".If you're like "whoa dood, I'm just trying to grow baby tomatoes for grams and you're going Bill Nye on me", I'm just saying that this LKLED Pumpkin grow light is a great light for the price range and for the power rating. The is best suited for bringing plants in for the winter, a small to medium sized grow tent, or small greenhouse. I'd say these are supplemental lighting, as you'd want to purchase multiple lights to cover a larger area (as opposed to trying to illuminate a large area by mounting this light very high) The ultimate experiment with this light would be to grow a pumpkin under one, so I've ordered pumpkin seeds off Amazon and will start a timelapse. Will post updates if anything changes.

I like the unique design.
I like the unique design but it is heavy for a goose neck and the fan is a bit noisy. Super bright but I think it casts too much light in different directions for smaller or open spaces. Inside a tent the 100 degree spread would be more contained. If the light is going to be used in a common room, you may be bothered by how much 'light' is projected. The tech seems good and the reflective material used is pretty cool. I commend these guys for their design.

Includes a fan!!!
Its a great light - I really like the almost 50w LED output for the $29 price - The pumpkin shape holds a fan that is a brushless fan however there is a bit of a whiiiirrrr to it. I'm going to try to gently oil the edges to see if that cuts down on it. Its super low heat, I wouldn't really call it full spectrum, its about 80/20 red.Great light though, awesome for my plants, now I just need a tent :) 5 star product for sure

I love my pumpkin grow light!
I love my pumpkin grow light! I'm using it in my home for my plants that need bright light but I don't have any nearby windows. It's really perfect when I'm traveling and I keep the curtains closed because I can put the light on a timer and give my plants daylight even when I'm not home. It's more unique-looking than just a regular grow light and gives a splash of bright orange color next to my plants. It's also going to come in very handy next Halloween!"

Freaken Bright as Hell
Just got this in and I hooked it up. It is mad bright!! it lights up my entire grow corner. I have corner windows with East, South East light. I just wanted something supplemental and this is supper bright. I grow orchids on my windowsill and my encyclia is in multiple sheath for over a year but no flower spike yet. Hoping this does the trick. I have an LED grow strip and it is not nearly as bright as this pumpkin light. When it spikes I'll update.

It's a great starter for someone wanting to learn how to grow ...
The bulb came quick and I put it to use right away. I'm really impressed with the quality and unique shape of this LED bulb. It's a great starter for someone wanting to learn how to grow indoors. Right now, I have one plant under this light, and so far it's doing great!
