I cant tell u enough how AMAZING this is! This one VS the other Cicas of this brand? (tea tree: Green bottle & yellow bottle ) THIS- is thicker consistency, creamy- DOESN'T dry greasy. Gives me 7/10 moisture- use 2 layers for more! (never break out or clog pores- GOOD under makeup- MY #1 GO TO for sensative, dermatitis, acne prone, dry/flaky, rash prone skin. Green/yellow one- thinner consistency- gives greasy feeling, doesnt make me break out but feels uncomfortable & unclean on my skin.(other than that- same as above just skin doesnt seem as "relieved" from dryness/irritation as much- maybe cuz product sits on top of skin & becomes greasy... I recommend this one- its thicker but nicer consistency when the others are thinner but to compensate for that, it sits greasy on ur face. So thinner isnt always better for moisturizing!!

I'm quickly becoming a SKIN1004 devotee. I purchased the Probio-Cica Intensive Ampoule to serve as my night serum after using retinoid serums for the better part of a decade (most recently: retinaldehyde) that had left my skin barrier compromised. For reference, my skin type is combination leaning towards dry. My cheeks, temples, area around my lips, jawline, throat, and décolleté are quite dry due to aging (I'm somewhere...in my 40s). My T-zone, nose, and chin do become oily, but are in need of a good dose of moisture and hydration after washing, which is necessary for my facial skin twice a day, to prevent dryness and irritation. I have fine lines in the usual areas and am not vain enough to undergo any cosmetic procedures, preferring to age naturally - which also allows me to better evaluate the anti-aging properties of skincare products. This ampoule is advertised on the SKIN1004 website and the product packaging (although not Amazon, oddly) as an anti-aging, intensely hydrating serum that promotes the health of the skin barrier, reduces the appearance of dark spots, balances oil, and soothes acne. The serum is a white liquid with the viscosity of cream. The serum coats the surface of the skin before absorbing into it, leaving behind a soft, velvety feel. The serum comes packaged in an opaque, elegant brown bottle of a generous 1.69 oz. with a long, angled dropper that reaches to nearly the bottom of the bottle to ensure nearly all of the serum can be accessed. The collar of the bottle has a feature that narrows around the pipette and "slurps" away the excess serum as it is inserted or removed from the bottle to prevent precious drops from being lost. To use the ampoule, I apply just four drops of it to my freshly washed, slightly damp face, throat, and décolleté before any other skincare products. Then, I wait a minute or so for it to absorb. It leaves behind a luxuriously velvety, non-sticky finish when fully absorbed. Then, I move on to the remaining steps in my simple nightly skincare routine, usually a nourishing moisturizer and, if necessary, an ointment or petroleum jelly if my skin is on the drier side. When I wake up in the morning, my skin is calm, withoit irritation and feels well-hydrated. I've noticed some improvement in my fine lines that weren't apparent prior to using this ampoule, even with long-term retinoid use. My pores are clear and small. If any bumps (not pimples - I rarely get those anymore) developed on my skin the day before, they literally disappear overnight. This ampoule is nearly a miracle worker, and I'm replacing my previous multiple serum routine witb this single ampoule. Since this ampoule is so hydrating and cloaking, I would advise against its use for folx with oily and acnegenic skin. SKIN1004 has some other ampoules that might be more appropriate for pore minimizing and skin calming needs. Also, use this product sparingly (start with 3-4 drops and ad a drop more at a time as needed) and on damp skin for best absorption - and to save your hard-earned cash. I love this ampoule! Edit, May 2024: I'm updating this review after adding retinol back into my routine for the past few months after some hyperpigmentation returned. This ampoule is excellent as a moisturizing serum to sandwich beneath a retinoid as the first step to protect and nurture the skin from potential irritation. I then layer a thick moisturizer over the retinol. Since doing this, I've had no issues with the retinol at all. I'll be upgrading to adapalene soon, keeping the ampoule as my first step.

Milky white color, looks like it would be sticky but is not sticky at all. I have fair skin that gets red cery easily and this serum has drastically reduced the redness of my skin overall. Added benefit is that is has also reduced the appearencw of my pores (i use castor oil and salicylic acid serum to keep my pores clean) but this serum has actually reduced the size of my pores overall. Its a noticeable effect. My skin is super soft using this. Like baby bottom smooth, texture has improved slightly mostly from it keeping my skin hydrated feeling. I dont have sensitive skin, but it is fair enough that even a light rubbing can make it turn bright red for a bit. This serum calms that quite a bit. Has a cool feel when applying which I love. It soaks in quickly, leaving just soft hydrated skin behind. I use this morning and night... sometimes i apply it a. Third time during the day for a nice little cooling refresh. This serum will stay in my routine for as long as it is available. One of my favroite calming serums. The packaging is top notch serum is supplied in a thick brown glass bottle which is great for lessening light exposure to the serum in the bottle. We all know how damaging uv light can be. Once applied it is a lightweight layer of skin care. Definitely does not make it feel it feel like you're its there. (You know how some skincare just feels like it is sitting on top of skin rather than soaking in -- this serum doesnt do that)

Love the viscosity and smooth feel of this serum. I've been using skin1004 products for a while, but this is one of my favorites. It's not too watery and is great for layering moisturizer and sunscreen over. I use this twice a day and definitely notice smoother skin and better resistance to breakouts.

Great priced product. I use the entire skin line. The serum is milky and soft. Sensitive and not sticky at all. Always great results with this brand.

This is probably one of the best products that they have. It has a thicker consistency, but it is super moisturizing. It is so great for the fall winter time. This really helps with the skin barrier. I have not experienced any irritation from this. It is such a great ampoule.

I’ve been using this on recovery nights, especially after exfoliation or tretinoin, and it’s been amazing for calming redness and rehydrating my skin. The texture is milky and absorbs quickly—no stickiness, just soothing moisture. My skin always looks plumper and more even the next morning. If your barrier’s feeling stressed, this is a must-have. Gentle, effective, and a total skin-saver.

I wanted to leave 5 ☆ . The product is very good leaves the skin very plumped amazing skincare especially after you applie retinol in the evening and morning after ha serum . I will buy again and again, this just became my favorite skincare

Wow. This stuff packs a punch of hydration. I've been struggling all winter long with very dry skin, and I've tried several different products. I had this recommended to me by a fellow very dry skin sufferer and I'm glad I listened. The texture is milky and smooth, and applies and absorbs easily. This serum is intensely hydrating and very soothing to the skin. With only a few uses, I saw huge differences in my skin. My dry patches faded away, my skin looked calmer and my skin texture looked significantly more even. I'm seriously impressed, and will be buying more from the Probio-Cica line!

I have sensitive, easily irritated skin (microneedling + tretinoin) and this ampoule has been so calming. The texture is lightweight but still hydrating, and it sinks in without feeling sticky. I noticed my redness looked a bit more settled after a few uses and my skin didn’t sting at all, which is rare for me. I also like that it layers well with moisturiser and sunscreen. The bottle is huge for an ampoule so it’s good value too. Definitely recommend for anyone with a damaged skin barrier or sensitive, dehydrated skin.
