The best RPG on the Xbox 360 since Oblivion!
I will admit to not being the biggest JRPG fan, having never seen a Final Fantasy game through to it's conclusion, but I know what I like, and I loved Eternal Sonata, so much so that it made me actively seek out other Japanese RPG's for more of the same.Everything about this game is a hit; the visuals are simply gorgeous, the whole game is wonderfully imaginative, the combat is fully engaging and fun, the story is an absolute delight, and despite a linear storyline there are still plenty to be done in this rich and beautiful game. It's definitely a game with replay value and it's a game that's an immense amount of fun to play.I got through the game in about 24 hours in total, which admittedly is a little short, especially considering that Lost Odyssey, the most recent Xbox 360 JRPG is 60 hours long, but I'd say I fully enyoyed at least 22 of them. I definitely intend to play it again just because it's such a wonderful experience. You will be sitting through some rather long cutscenes, and the story does get rather preachy, but these minor problems did nothing to dent my utter enjoyment of this game.Considering that I got this game for less than £20 from good ol' Amazon, in retrospect if I had known how good it was I would have gladly paid £40, and at £15 you would be hard pressed to find a better game. Every Xbox owner who enjoys a good colourful game with some real nice combat has no excuse for not buying this simply amazing game. 9/10 (rounded up to 5 rather than down to 4)

Japanese Chopin runs off with a little girl to fight onions
I bought this game for my 13 year old daughter and was attracted by the pseudo educational overtones in the blurb. When we fired the game up we were impressed by the visual impact but a little non-plussed by the very long and hesitant introduction. The gameplay is slow and basic at the beginning and the game seems to be aimed at very young children. My daughter quickly put the game down and left it.A couple of weeks later she had another go and stuck with it this time and is now about half way through. Once you get past the opening levels the game becomes more complex and appealling. The combat is a little repetitive (you take turns to bash angry onions and jelly fish/mushroom things and rather wooden boss monsters) but you gain a small army of side-kicks (including a rather dull characterisation of a Chopin) all of whom can be customised. There are musical mini-games and audio clips that do provide a basic introduction to Chopin's work and add an original feel to the game. The more you fight the more powerful the characters become, but there are too many fights and this interrupts the flow of the game.A wierd and rather slow platform come role play come music lesson game that is worth picking up if you see it cheap.

Good fun game.
Took me a while to get used to the "linear" aspect of character movement, I muchprefer to wander all over the place, but its a decent game with a very unusual storyline/theme.Very colourful and clear cartoon/anime type graphics.Dont like having to play through a second time but you have to to get all the stuff/goodiesetc if you want to completely finish the game and get the (Xbox360) rewards.Though does seem to be the way most games are these days.Overall, IMHO, a game worth giving a go.

I really wanted to like this game, so much that ive bought it twice...........and gave up on it twice
Who knew that a game based on Chopin's life/death could be so dull and childish. The graphics and art style in this game are really beautiful but with fixed camera angles your not allowed to explore properly. The cut scenes are the most annoying part of this game as they are crammed with childish morals and Polka's cringeworthy voice acting will have you setting the language to Japanese .Combat system is ok but appearence of the characters armor and weapons remains the same for the whole game.If you havent already tried i would Suggest lost odyssey/Blue dragon or even tales of vesperia

Awesome
This is a great game, a bit short in my opinion but only because it is a super fun super addictive game to play

History book or RPG?
I was really looking forward to playing this game, admittedly I have no interest in Chopin, I liked the visuals and the character models. Unfortunately, this game can't decide if it is a game or a history book. After some scenes end, you are given a history lecture about Chopin's life which felt completely out of place and doesn't feel as though it fits. I also couldn't have cared less. Had they scrapped the Chopin idea and kept everything else, I probably would have enjoyed this more. I played it for two hours and gave up, the fighting is repeatative and dull, the only fun I had was putting the game on Japanese voices.

Wouldn't look out of place on Xbox One or PS4 - Just Stunning Visuals !
The intro sequence maybe a little cringey but is undeniably stunning visually for a 360 game... and the price i paid for this makes it a 5 star purchase and a great addition to my collection - Not really my type of game but that doesn't matter one bit, it's nice to try something different !
