It's clear that a lot of thought went into designing this serial interface converter. The USB and RS485/422 sides are thoroughly isolated from each other, to the extent that there's even an air gap built into the board. The RS485/422 circuitry incorporates extensive protection components, along with configurable termination resistors (selected via two onboard jumpers). The converter is housed in a sturdy plastic case that supports DIN-rail and surface mounting. The kit comes with a USB 2.0 A-to-B cable, plus a mini screwdriver for the terminal block. There weren't any instructions in the box, but the device is straightforward enough. In use, the converter performs well, with the genuine FTDI FT232RNL chip providing reliable and predictable operation. The RX/TX lights help with troubleshooting and are easy to see. Overall, excellent quality and functionality. Highly recommended.

Ich habe es bisher nur unter Windows (11) probiert und da geht es einfach. Sicherlich ist jede Bastellösung aus Resten günstiger. Aber den Mehrpreis bin ich zwischenzeitlich gerne bereit zu zahlen wenn es einfach funktioniert ohne das man wieder eine kalte Lötstelle bei seiner Bastellösung sucht. Top Konverter, tut genau das was ich wollte: - USB auf RS485 / Modbus - Hutschienenmontage Habe das Gerät in meinem Netzwerkschrank verbaut und lese damit meinen Stromzähler über Modbus aus. Funktioniert bisher seit einigen Wochen einwandfrei. Habe allerdings auch nichts anderes erwartet, in den ganzen Konvertern ist meist exakt dasselbe drin - was auch bereits seit jeher funktioniert. Selbst unter macOS oder auch Windows läuft das Gerät einwandfrei. Verarbeitung ist top und entspricht dem, was ich für knapp ~30€ erwarten würde. 5 Sterne.
