AIM Plumbing Solder Kit with solder wire, flux and brush, Solder for Plumbing Repairs (113g / 4oz)

I had to braze a copper fitting for my first time so I bought this kit and YouTubed how. The most important part is cleaning the copper first. Getting the solder hot enough can be tricky too so don’t rush it just keep the MAP gas cooking and it’ll puddle.

This is real silver. I can tell by how much heat you have to put to it. I have a leak. It’s in copper and in a t fitting that is right off the top of the water heater and right up against the ceiling and hard to get to. Since it’s a t firing I have to replace a ton of pipes to get it out. Replacment is the right way to fix but this got me back up and running. I had a pinhole in the side of a t fitting. I cleaned it really good and made it shining. Then heated it up for a long time. Overlaid the pinhole area with the silver solder. Let it cool. Tried to remove it but it bonded well. Turned the water back on and I’m leak free. It’s probably temporary and I’ll keep my eye on it expecting to have to replace but for now we have hot water again

I'd say it's the second best 430f silver bearing solder I've used. Stay brite brand is my favorite but this has plenty of silver in it and is affordable. Flows pretty good and makes a strong joint. This is the solder I will use for everything from now on.

I almost didn't buy this plumbing solder because the roll itself lists no ingredients and doesn't say 'Silver Solder'. My roll of AIM Electrical Solder says Silver Solder on the label, and it lists the elements (Ag=Silver). Consequently, I had to download AIM's data sheet for this plumbing solder and it is indeed silver solder (photo). It was important because I was soldering a brass PEX converter fitting to copper heat pipe, and silver solder bonds well to brass. It worked well and just took a bit more heat, which is characteristic of silver solder. AIM - You make great solder (Canada), please label your products properly. If I left this roll in the shop, nobody would know what kind of solder it is and they probably wouldn't use it on brass. If I didn't have to waste time confirming the solder's ingredients, this would have received 5 stars. I AIM makes great solder for a good price...and it's made in Canada!

Very easy to use. The flux bubbles at the right heat and pulls in the solder easily. Pays for itself on the first diy job. Love it!

Very good solder kit for starters. Watched a few videos and learned it quickly. It does take practice to get better but if you are just doing a small job, this will do it.

Works great for soldering copper!

Everything worked perfectly. I have done lots of electrical soldering but little on plumbing. This kit has Everything you need except the heat. Saves money because I didn't have ro buy more than I needed.

Perfect. Does what it says on the tin. Comes with applicator brush and is lead free. Many thanks recommend *****

I had to solder in a tee to connect a new fridge to a cold water source. This solder along with some old Oatey flux I had laying around worked well to get the tee connected up and leak-free.
