Game changer for sitdown longarm free motion quilting
These gripper rings are a game changer for my free motion quilting. I was having the hardest time moving my large quilts around smoothly. To say I was beyond frustrated was an understatement. I came across these rings when doing research. I was impressed by the reviews so I decided to try them out. My free motion quilting is fun again. These rings grip nicely without pulling. I'm able to move my quilt around at any speed allowing me to quilt with more precision and confidence. Moving to the next area of my quilt is super easy, just lift the ring and move it appropriately. Amazon had the best price so that was an added bonus plus if these did not work out...easy return policy.

What a game changer for FMQ
I have arthritis and these hoopw are amazing! Helps to control stitch length and keeps quilt flat while you move it about. No more tugging, sore shoulders and hands and janky quilting! vast improvement in stitches first time I used it! Of course you need to lift and move the hoop as you quilt, but its fairly easy to catch on to. The knobs are perfect. I love to quilt, just don't have space or $$$ for a long-arm. But these things really help. A vast improvement!

Worth every $ . A game changer tool.
This hoop is absolutely amazing. It's easy to use, fits both my sit down Sweet 16 quilter, and my Juki NX7 sewing machines. I am a very beginning quilter and have never quilted my own stuff but I was quilting a sample piece within an hour after I got this. I can see where this is going to be a game changer for me. The quality is top-notch. Try it, you will LOVE it.

No opening; but easy to DIY.
Used for free motion quilting. Saves hands. Marcelli makes Bernina red also. Red has opening; black doesn't. Easy to cut one. Black cheaper than red.

Smooth moves
Rings help to keep the quilt taut and aid in smooth movements. What I dislike about these rings vs others is that there is no opening in the ring to allow it to be removed without cutting the thread.

Valuable aid in free motion quilting.
I have had trouble getting started on FMQ, as I can’t seem to hold the layers in place while moving them at the same time. Gloves are inadequate for me. The small plastic semi-rectangles that are supposed to hold the layers are small and don’t work well. I came across these when searching for hexagon shapes mentioned in a quilting YouTube video. They seemed as if they might fit my need. I have now tried them and they do the job! You must be careful in placing them under the presser foot—in fact, removing the foot first might be best. Once you have arranged your Martelli hoop, put your foot on, you really can do all the adjusting you need to do to comoplete your quilting. Yes, a bit of an investment, but one that was worth it for me.

Amazing tool!
Love this! I find the weight and grip on the fabric make free motion quilting much easier. Gloves did grip well, but I found it difficult to keep the “sandwich” as smooth as it is with this tool. I highly recommended this tool. I know many people recommend the 11” size…maybe it is because I am a newbie, but I found I prefer the 8” size. Maybe as I progress I will be more comfortable with the 11” size.
