Be aware you will pay import duty if shipped to the UK
Had one of these for four years - its a great value conical burr grinder that has been reliable and performed flawlessly. So we decided to buy one as a present for a family member.Price wise its excellent value and a good place to start a serious journey into the world of great coffee. However the day before delivery UPS hit us up for £47.92 import duty and brokerage . Not made clear when Amazon took the order - a little disappointing.

Fab grinder
I spent ages researching the coffee grinder I was going to buy. There's a crazy amount written about coffee grinders on web sites and coffee forums. Most tell you to spend £300 on a grinder (coffee snobs). So what made me decide on the Graef? There was some good things said about it on some European sites, but also I have a meat slicer made by Graef and I've never been so impressed with a piece of kitchen equipment before. Built like a tank and is just so well designed, perfect for the job it's made for. Also there was very little chance of me spending more that £200 on a grinder, so I went with a brand I already knew made quality stuff.Turns out I was right. The Graef is a lovely piece of kit. The biggest thing about a grinder is whether it can grind fine enough for an espresso machine and this most definitely can with room to spare. Easily fine enough and then some. The built quality is just great and that switch is really industrial feeling. The burrs are nicely cut and hardened. Out of interest, even though the seller is from Germany, the grinder had a British plug fitted.I think this will last for many years and I'm very happy with the job it does. Just go for it, you won't regret it.

Really good quality. Ticks lots of boxes
I use a professional style espresso machine and it needs a good quality consistent grind for decent results. Most domestic burr grinders don't really meet the standard but the professional grinders are very expensive indeed (this one's just expensive :)Also I want a grinder that will deliver the freshly ground coffee straight into the filter basket, when you only have one or two cups a day you don't want ground coffee sitting around going staleThis machine is perfect. It dispenses the coffee straight into the filter without any spillage, something that was a problem with my last grinder, and the quality of the grind is great, the coffee definitely tastes better than it used to although my previous grinder was an ok machine. And it's really easy to set up and adjust, you can take it apart to clean very easily. Just all round a very good product.

So far so good
I wanted a quality grinder that didn't break the bank. After some research I settled on this one over the Baratza Encore (too much plastic) and Ascaso I-mini (too expensive). The first unit I received did not power :( However the seller was helpful and promptly replaced. I have put this down to being unlucky and the unit definately has a quality feel about its components. Being an engineer I love the chunky metal toggle switch. It's quick to operate and very quiet for a coffee grinder. Positive soft click mechanism as you dial in your grind setting. Two adapter rings and auto setting to drop your portafilter underneath one handed.I'm currently using only for filter coffee and plan to move to espresso soon. The fine setting looks plenty small enough for pressurised baskets however. Also you can adjust the top burr if you want to go finer.I expect if you are a "high maintenance" espresso buff you would want to spent more on something more towards the commercial quality but I expect this is a great grinder for those looking for a fresh tasting cuppa, want something good quality and don't wish to remortgage for the privilege.

Sourced from AUSTRIA, manufactured in GERMANY so not sure about guarantee. Fitted with euro plug.
Looks good, solid build, simple to assemble and operate. Use it for ‘espresso’ in a stove top coffee maker. Setting at 15 produces excellent result.Previously used a blade grinder. Much more flavour with burr grinder which surprised me.Delivered from Austria in 4 days. Euro plug fitted but simple to replace with UK plug.CHEAP UK/EURO ADAPTORS not suitable as they do not have earth connection.

Brilliant quality kit
Great grinder - quality piece of kit and well worth the money. We wanted to upgrade our Gaggia burr grinder for one with an automatic dispenser and hopper and wanted a good quality one to use with our Rancilio machine. This ticks the boxes for us. We didn't want the other top recommended one by Heston Blumenthal as don't do kitchen things with names on as a rule! Delivery was quick and efficient to say it came from Germany and we are very pleased with the purchase overall. I wouldn't hesitate if I was you.

Giving the grinder just one star for the moment,I have only had it about 30 hours and have been at work most of those so not much chance to try it outNot happy that it came with euro plug so had to source an adapterIn some reviews people are getting an espresso grind On a high setting, but I started on 20 and went down to 5 which was not fine enough as coffe came through too fast and at 0 coffee would not come through, then on 2 it just about came through so I don’t have many options left.My machine is the sage duo temp pro and I am using fresh beans with a good roast date but am struggling to get good tasting shot, not bad with milk but awful black so don’t know if it’s the machine, grinder or me.Need to do more tests before giving a proper review....costing me a fortune in coffee this dialling in, now on my second grinder first one cheapWhich I hacked to give finer grind which wasn’t good enough.if anyone out there has any helpful advice would be very welcome.

Well made and well worth waiting for
I have been looking for a burr grinder for some time. This is a very well made piece of kitchen equipment. It is robust yet still looks good. Mechanically it works very well and is easy to clean. I am very pleased with this purchase.
