A 'lifetime' of repair flexibility
I ordered these as other sellers were similar price for 1 valve. 5 gives you extra chances to mess up if you're a sausage fingered DIY clown like me.Some valves need the little minute white sticky out pin, others don't. These valves come with the little pin fitted. It's easy enough to tease it from its home by gently pushing it out if your toilet doesn't need it - look at the valve you remove.Dead easy to change after watching a few YouTube videos and figuring changing this little valve was the first port of call before calling a tame plumber out.Just take photos with your phone if you're not sure and then you can see what's what as you dismantle and go through the repair.I say 'lifetime' as I'm in South Wales with pretty soft water hardness. Our initial valve has done about 10 years, so I would expect about 10 years from the new one. Depending on water hardness and toilet use you might get less - water industry say 3-5 years is average life for these little valves. So 5 could get you 15 years, 25 years or in my case possibly 50 years.Cracking value for money, toilet is now quieter as the valve is not allowing water to spray everywhere. Seems to be performing as it should and has even seemingly slowed the constant drip we had into the toilet pan. Though, that's probably the rubber gasket on the bottom of the cistern exit. Maybe, it's picked up some grit/rust or might just need cleaning/adjusting or replacing.
