Perfect toast & a slim elegant design
- love the styling- functional but minimalist-love the small footprint on our counter- love the warming rack for croissants, etc.- really love that the first test slice of toast I made was perfect, set it one up from the lowest setting. Popped up nicely.- did not like having to 'cure' the coils on high before using it the first time. Stunk up the place and should be done at the factory so it is ready to use when you get it. But hey, just a one time annoyance. Be sure to vent the room. Set of the smoke alarm.- it defaults to 4 out of 6 when started and you adjust it up or down. Since setting 2 fully browned my test slice, seems like it should default to a lower setting. Again, no biggie. Easy to see lights for the setting.Overall a masterpiece. not cheap but at $60 blows away a lot of more expensive toasters. Appears to be very well made.

Great Modern Looking & Functioning Toaster
I have had this toaster for about 4 months and it's not only amazing looking but makes great toast! I bought it because it fit an area I wanted to store it in when not using. But it looks so amazing and modern in my newly remodeled kitchen, that I leave it out on the counter all the time! You won't be sorry if you buy this!!!

Very well packaged, arrived on time and in good sape
It looks beautiful, arrived on time, and was very well packaged to avoid any nicks or dents. I haven't tried it yet, because it's going in a new house that we don't have possession of yet, but you asked for a review, so this is what I know now.

Terrific toaster
I spent way too much time researching toasters, but it was worthwhile because the Russell Hobbs is a terrific toaster. It makes excellent toast, it's easy to use, it is very attractive (especially in a modern, sleek, kitchen), the defroster alternative works flawlessly, and it takes up very little room. This springer is so powerful that the post literally pops out of the slots and almost onto the counter. So no risking bring your hands by lifting the bread out of the slot. In particular, I like that it handles longer slices of bread, which I found to be a problem with my previous toaster. If I were forced to write some negatives, the 4 temperature buttons are more limiting than a toaster with more buttons or dial. (Although, for all I know, it is more difficult to select exactly the temperature you want with the dial.) Second, the bottom doesn't completely open so it is possible that burned bread could be stuck around the edges of the bottom. Finally, if your budget demands a toaster that toasts bread, I'm sure you could buy something cheaper. But those negatives are insignificant. This is a terrific toaster and, if you don't mind paying for an upscale toaster, I cannot recommend it more highly.

Beautiful toaster...and IT WORKS!!
It makes great toast, easy from defrost to light to dark. The long shape is unusual...and we like it. You see we do not have a lot of counter space...yet it works ... we also love the "warmer" that goes on top - good innovation from Hobbs 👍. It holds whatever thickness well; it is easy to clean. This is the 7th or eighth toaster I have bought in the last 15 years. Toasters are no longer made in America...sigh...since to increase profits of companies, most of them buy cheap cheap cheap from China. This company is headquartered in England...and obviously demands superior internal items from Asian countries.

Does NOT toast bread - it only gently warms it!
Piece of junk. Toaster either cuts off before bread is toasted, and it will not allow you to toast it further until after you have waited several minutes. Repeatedly tried to fix working with product support. Ultimately I was told over the phone "Sorry, we no longer support this product." Be careful! I believe you will regret purchasing this poorly designed and manufactured product.

Perfect!
Great for big loafs! Works perfectly, faster than our previous Dualit and nice even toasting. If I had to complain, I'd whine about the build feels light weight and the finish is a faux chrome...but it cleans easily with a microfiber and seriously, for less than $100 I love it!

Looks good, love the rack, terrible toasting
I bought this because it fits perfectly in an odd little narrow counter space in my apartment. I also love the idea of the warming rack, since I often prop a roll or bun on top of my toaster, which often leads to burnt buns! So the good news is that it looks good, and the rack is great. Perfect for heating up croissants, hamburger buns etc.The bad news: it's a terrible toaster. The edges of the bread burn before the middle is toasted. You can look in and see that the heating elements vary in how far out they stick from the sides. Maybe mine is a lemon, but this is just bad quality. I have to pop up and rotate the bread at least once to get even toasting, sometimes three times. Also, the controls are really stupidly designed. There's a row of indistinguishable silver buttons, and the one in the middle is the Cancel button! You fumble around trying to hit the right one to pop the bread before it burns. At which point it will be flung across the counter.
